Do you guys think we are really contenders right now? Contenders as in, most likely we can make a run at the playoffs year in and year at where we are at right now? Also, where can I find next years schedule?
 
Right now, yes. Being AFC East champions speaks to that.

However, last week's results also speaks to how far we have to go to being strong contenders.

Insofar as next year's schedule, there are at least a couple of threads already devoted to that.

We win the right to contend for a title by virute of winning the division, but legitimate? Not until we win a game in the playoffs.
 
The schedule i seen next year looks pretty tough, hopefully we improve in secondary and wr.

We are a good team, but not great.

As much as many people don't want to believe it, we had a ridiculously easy schedule this year.

Let's see what happens next year.

Personally, I think if we have a good off-season this year and a good off-season next year, we will be "legit" contenders in 2010.

Making a run and the playoffs where we are at right now yes. All that takes is winning the division and I believe if we solidify the O and D line for this next season and add a couple of free agents like McFadden, Otagwe, or Scott we will repeat as division champs. I think we will have the talent to win a playoff game then. I'm really looking forward to proving the nfl that we can beat the best teams in the league. Here's to the 08-09 season ahead of us:up:. No. As the Baltimore game showed. as I stated before, the foundation has been put down and this year ( 2009 ) is going to be very important. This is going to be a busy offseason as B.P. did not look happy during the Ravens win. Now that we have a good core to build on and put together a winning season, more F.A.'s would feel comfortable coming to Miami and we should have a good draft. Even though next years scheduled opponents seem to be tougher on paper, I am actually looking forward to that season more than 2008. If we do well in 2009, which I am sure we will, our critics will have no excuses to our success. We are legitimate Division contenders but as a whole we still need to elevate out talent to the rest of the premier teams in the NFL.
 
I hate to say this but no. The Ravens game really opened my eyes to this. If we would have won or lost by a close margin we would have considered contenders. I think we are a threat. I don't know about contenders. It all depends what moveas we make in the offseason. Next year is a tough schedule and if we don't have a good season again this season will be called a fluke......I DON'T WANNA BE A FLUKE!!!!!!
 
I think that we're gonna have to be much better next season just to win 11 games again...I think the competition will be stronger next year....I trust the FO will make a few more good moves this offseason and therefor we'll content for the east again....how far we go is too early to tell.

As stated above, two more solid off seasons = legitimate contender in 2010.
 
literally from worst to first is not a bad start on being contenders. we just have to get to that next level in beating the panthers, giants, and steelers, maybe the ravens because of that defense, but we will be there next year
