Are we overlooking the Fullback position?

I think this is a position and need that we are overlooking. Don't get me wrong I love polite on short yardage situations, he is pretty much automatic on 3rd &1 or 4th &1, but what concerns me was his run blocking last year, it was terrible, I don't know exactly what stat it was but he ranked at the bottom of the league in run blocking last year. Like I said I thought we were doing a total overhaul of this offense, I just saw that the Ravens signed Vonta Leach I would of loved to scoop him up. I just think this is a position we are overlooking, I know there was talk before the lockout ended about upgrading the fullback position but obviously it hasn't happened yet, but I'm not surprised considering this front office.

Not sure Polite is up and down and we have no clue what Clay is. I would be TE I dont see him as an NFL fullback. Fullback is so hard to judge in NFL>

I'd love to have a healthy Leonard Weaver at the FB. Dude absolutely crushes LB's. He torn his ACL last year so with rehab..........

I wouldn't mind us bringing in McClain or Lawrence Vickers... Both are good FB's, and McClain could take some carries as well.

I still am all for putting Lex as the FB and have him push Polite. I also think Ronnie Brown as a Dolphin is still possible once he realizes the cash he was expecting was not there. Ronnie/Bush/Thomas would be a nice little combo.

I think people are staring to realize that Polite is not a consistent player and thats one reason he has bounced around the league. He is not a top level fb

I agree, but damn guy went from being a stud fb, some guys wanted him in the probowl, now we are looking for a replacement, and we havent seen really any reason why we should replace him..fullbacks arent really that popular of a position anyways. some times dont even use one.

Polite is a good FB, he had an off year hopefully he can go back to how he played 2 years ago. Last year he would miss blocks the year before he was pretty solid. He is money on 3rd and 4th and 1's tho.
