I have read some posts from people who say we should dump all of our veterans since we are rebuilding, well I didn't realize we are rebuilding. I thought Saban was tweaking and fine tuning the team a bit but if we were in a rebuilding phase why would he bring in an injured veteran QB and give up a 2nd round pick for him??? Teams who are rebuilding don't give away 2nd round picks that often, in fact they make trades in order to stock pile picks.

Which is what I hope Saban does in the off season. We will probably get a top 5 pick and I hope to god he does everything he can to trade down and then do the same next year and the year after. We need so much help at so many different positions this will take at least 3 or 4 yrs.

I still say we don't make the playoffs for another 4 or 5 yrs, and unfortunately Saban will probably be fired within 2 or 3.

yes and we are trying to get an established QB and youth to support jt and zt

Miami needs to sign Nate Clemens this offseason and make some draft day trades to get more picks.

I don't think we did enough in the draft to be labeled a rebuilding team.

What does that mean? We used all our picks...It is a process, this year we need to DO what everyone talks about, beef up our lines.

That means that our draft class isn't doing enough. We are not rebuilding this team with young players. The old players are still playing. In a rebuilding team you need to change some of the old talent with the new talent, and we haven't done that.

I thought that Culpepper was a free agent and they traded a seventh round pick for Harrington, can anyone confirm this?

Exactly. Saban needs to start playing the young guys and get them experience so they will be better off next year. There is no reason Allen shouldn't be playing instead of Tillman. Let the young guys play.

i believe if harrington plays 35% of the snaps detroit gets a 5th rounder. another brilliant move by saban. couldn't we just promote cleo lemon to backup?? i mean we're losing with harrington and we could have done the same with cleo but kept the draft pick. seems like every coach we get loves trading away picks

Every NFL team is rebuiilding every year. It is the nature of the league, especially in the salary cap era. The average turnover for the league is something close to 30% of the personnel for every team. Look at the Steelers this year and compare their roster to last year. A lot of players are different. It doesn't matter how well or poorly the team performs, all teams are rebuilding, all the time.

I totally disagree. There are several reasons why Allen ashould not be playing, killing his confidence being the most important. If we put him out there before he has a solid understanding of the D then it could really cost the fins, and Jason Allen's future. Just because he was drafted in the first, I don't think he should be starting.
I think being patient is the right thing to do. You could argue that he will never learn until he gets the opportunity to make mistakes, but obviously Saban and the coaching staff don't think that he ready to make the transition and may make so many mistakes as to kill his cionfidence.
DB is one of the hardest positions to make the college-pro adjustment, especially with Saban's D.

You just can't rebuild through free agency. If it wasn't for Hagan we wouldn't have anything to base the performance of this draft class on.
