[h=3]We are supposed to have one of the few QB competitions that we have ever had here, yet we seem to be waiting a week to start practice.

Offseason workouts begin today but not for Dolphins[/h] Smell that? The fresh-mown grass, the sweat, the hope filling the breeze? No, not baseball. That is the lovely scent of football's offseason getting up your nose.

Today, you see, is the first day of the NFL's offseason workout programs for some lucky teams. According to the new NFL collective bargaining agreement, teams with new head coaches can take the field starting today under a very specific set of guidelines.

Only teams with new coaches can begin work today and, as the Dolphins have new coach Joe Philbin on staff, they are among half-a-dozen teams able to get on the field and moving starting today. Everyone else must wait a couple of more weeks.

The Dolphins, however, are working by their own schedule. They are not starting today. Their offseason workout program is scheduled to begin April 10. I don't really know why the Dolphins are not getting right to work and instead are waiting until next week.

Quarterbacks may elect to throw to uncovered receivers at this time.

That's the dolphin's for you..........they have a plan...lol

Having a new coach doesnt grant you extra practices, it just lets you start them sooner. All teams, new or old coaches, get the same number of practices no matter what. If we start them on April 3rd or April 10th, it doesnt make a real difference considering we will still have the same number of practices. Armando is just trying to stir the pot again with this article.

Can't see how lifting weights and playing catch six days early makes any difference

What's the point in practicing in April? The team still has players to add in FA and the draft. Throwing now can't possibly make a difference in September.

The Dolphins get the same amount of practice and workout days whether they start today or next week. No real story here.
