A Summit County judge issued an arrest warrant for Dennis Rodman on Wednesday after the former NBA star missed a court appearance to answer charges of speeding and reckless driving.

Rodman, 44, was scheduled to appear Wednesday in Breckenridge for a July 26 citation he received after being pulled over driving a reported 98 mph in a borrowed Lamborghini during a cross-country rally.

The warrant by Judge Russell Granger directs police anywhere in Colorado to arrest the former star, who spent the bulk of his 14 years in the NBA playing for the Chicago Bulls and Detroit Pistons. "Basically he was summonsed to appear in court by the state patrol, and he didn't show up. Standard operating procedure is if you don't show up, you get a warrant out for your arrest," District Attorney Mark Hurlbert said. Rodman's agent, Darren Prince, said the missed court date was an oversight brought on in part because the two-time NBA all-star was stopped for speeding twice in Colorado and had a third legal tangle, accused of leaving a Glenwood Springs gas station without paying $40 for gasoline and a cowboy hat.

That was arguably the least surprising headline I've ever read.

Isiah Thomas fired as GM/pres of Knicks should be the most likely headline.

The sad thing is that I was a huge Rodman fan when he was on the Bulls (mainly because I cheered for the Bulls). He's one of the Greatest Rebounders in the history on the NBA and should be in the Hall of Fame if you ask me (was a huge part of 5 championship teams)!

I agree that Rodman should be a Hall of Famer. Scoring isn't everything, you need to rebound and play defense and Rodman was one of the alltime best rebounders and defenders. His personality might keep him out, that shouldnt matter.

Rodman absolutely should have a spot in the Hall. No question about it; he was one of the top rebounders and defenders ever at his position. His personality and lack of impressive scoring numbers (the Hall is chock-full of shoot-first and defend-later types) could keep him out. I do wonder whether he'd go in as a Piston or a Bull, though. He spent more time in Detroit, but won more titles in Chicago.

Rodman was capable of scoreing 20 a game, every game, but he loved defense and rebounding, and didn't care if he ever scored a point as long as he got 15 rebounds a game, which he almost always did.

I always liked watching Rodman get into people's heads. He frustrated players so throughly, they were literally crying to the refs, begging for calls.
Really if the basketball HOF wasn't such a joke Id say he was a shoo-in, but when DWilkins doesnt get in on his first try theres something wrong. The basketball hall of fame isnt the NBA HOF unfortunately. If Rodman was a mediocre college coach or some obscure Euro player he'd be enshrined immediately but NBA players arent worthy, I mean our basketball league has always been inferior to the Europe game, give me a break. The basketball HOF is a complete joke.

I loved watching Rodman go up against Shaq. He didn't care how big Shaq was, he'd give him everything he had. He didn't back down from anyone.
