Article about Welker

All 4 of his catches were on third down, but one of them was a yard short. The other third down conversions were the passes to mcmichael and ronnie. Shows who frerrote and the staff has confidence in for those clutch plays....

In his book, Saban mentions his high school state championship game. On the last play of the game his coach told him who his best players were and that he could call any play he wanted as long as one of those two guys got the ball. I think that's the mentality here, he knows who his clutch guys are when he needs them.

Good read. Thanks for the article dude.

That may be a bit of a reach IMO. Although I like Welker a lot he certainly isn't amongst the best players on this team. I think the fact that Denver didn't fear him as much as Chambers, McMike, Booker, Brown, Boston. If I had to pick my poison in this group Welker would be the weakest link. That is what Saban wants, versatillity and options and a QB that reads the coverages and makes the right decisions.

welker reminds me of ricky prohel. ricky always came up with the big catch when the rams needed it.he made one in the super bowl agins the titans and made the game winning td catch aginst the bucs in the nfc champ game. and kurt would always hit him on a 3rd down we the rams needed it

Ouch. Even though I wouldn't consider Welker the best player on this team, I wouldn't put him towards the bottom either. Maybe the reason Welker seems to be so good at what he does is because he actually has the talent. Not because he is overlooked. Why is it so hard for some to give him credit?? :shakeno:
