In his book, Saban mentions his high school state championship game. On the last play of the game his coach told him who his best players were and that he could call any play he wanted as long as one of those two guys got the ball. That may be a bit of a reach IMO. Although I like Welker a lot he certainly isn't amongst the best players on this team. I think the fact that Denver didn't fear him as much as Chambers, McMike, Booker, Brown, Boston. If I had to pick my poison in this group Welker would be the weakest link.
