I enjoyed this article on Ireland & seeing his commitment not only to the Fins but most importantly to his family. I didn't realize that like Marino he has 2 kids that are autistic Im sure that is quite challenging but he seems to really work hard to raise money & awareness for it. I like most of you have struggled with his decisions but I am really rooting for him to succeed & for the 1st time in awhile am genuinely excited about the season.

Makes you feel bad with all the negative stuff he has had to deal with. Sometimes you forget there is a family in the background that has to deal with it too.

I thought about that while read it, b/c I didnt realize how old his kids were so
im sure it's difficult for them to hear some of that about their Dad.

I think we are lucky to have Ireland. He is the only bright spot from the parcels era

four responses to this thread as I type this. hard to say i'm surprised. something postitive about ireland? time to stick the head in the sand and ignore it.

I usually go to www.miamidolphins.com for articles that may include criticism (though some want to avoid that if at all possible).

The article is nice take on his family, but does it have something worth discussing? I'm glad he enjoys being a father. I'm looking forward to it myself. That being said, I prefer not saying anything about the families of the staff or players. It's none of my business either way (unless they do something illegal that impacts the Phins, Marshall...).

True enough, but far to often we have people who not only say they hate what the man has done (or any past or current member of the dolphins etc) but also hate the man himself. It's good to see another side of him, one that does more for the community that many of our armchair gms, and a glimpse into the icemans personal side.

It is pretty weird to hate some of these people personally. Outside of Parcells of course
