As sad as it is to say, we have way too many needs...

We have way too many needs to use all of our money on Drew Brees in free agency or drafting a qb in round 1. I say that to say this; we have absolutely no one in the secondary, and no starting Left Tackle. Not to mention we have big questions at OLB and DT. As unfortunate as it may be we probably have to deal with one more year of the Frerotte/Rosenfels combo and patch up the rest of our needs this off season. We now should focus on signing someone like Lecharles Bentley in free agency and basically drafting defense (mainly secondary) in every round. What do we do about left tackle? I really have no idea. I would say draft a LT in round one but since we do not have a #1 corner on this team, possibly not even a starting caliber one, we now have to groom one by drafting one in round one. After much thought this team is 2 or 3 years away from being a true contender... Not one. Anyone else want to jump on the draft Brady Quinn in '07 bandwagon with me?

BTW I hope I'm wrong in this post, I hope Saban can work a few miracles with the players we have now. You never know who will break out I guess.
 
Your concerns are valid but Super Bowl contending teams needs an outstanding QB to lead and Drew Brees gives us a serious upgrade in that area. Yes we do need fill other areas and LeCharles Bentley would be one in which we should look at but price would be as high as Brees.
As far as not having a #1 corner, Travis Daniels played very well at the end of his rookie year and if Will Poole performs as he did before he got injured, we should be ok in that area this year.
 
Too early to start thinking that way. Will Poole will be back, Tebucky Jones only played what, 5 or 6 games before he got hurt, and you were kidding yourself if you think McIntosh was going to start at LT again this year. It's too early to panic, the CBA could still get done by tomorrow night, you just gotta hold out some hope.
 
I dont agree with you at all. This team won 6 in a row with the personel we had right now. We will only get stronger. And if we get better that means no worse then a 10 win team. If Drew Brees was on this exact roster that we played with last year, we would have won 11 or 12 games.
 
I think Travis Daniels will develop into a very good #2 corner in the league and I have no idea what to expect from Will Poole he was such a boom or bust prospect. I know the dude we got from Jacksonville kind of sucks and that is every corner on our roster right now if I'm not mistaken. As much as I want Manny Lawson with our 1st rounder because he would absolutely tear it up at 3-4 OLB for us, I think we have no choice but to draft someone like Jimmy Williams, Cromartie, Tye Hill, or Jonothan Joseph even if they aren't the bpa.

Manny Lawson if he is there at 16 will be the BPA and the one we pick, unless we go offense and select an OT. We can still get an outstanding corner in the 2nd round which might include Cromartie. He had a poor showing at the Combine, speed wise, and could be there.

a lot of people had this feeling last offseason and then what..Saban proved us wrong. Don't u remember? relax bro

Saban got it all under control my friend..Let him do all the worrying, because he has the answers to everything..
 
we have to take brees, how often does a pro bowl qb get let in to free agency?
 
The needs we have since the cuts today, were all known needs. We knew the cuts were coming and who and what position would be affected.

Saban & FO will improve and add depth to these holes and keep us cap friendly.
 
We will still have more money to deal with than a lot of teams, so that we can be thankful for. I am not sure if we will get Brees at this point, but I trust Saban will find a way.

haha but yea i deff agree we need a qb and we have our perfect opportunity with brees now...i fear that if we dont get a good qb like brees now it wont be until a while that we get this good of an oppurtunity for this good of a qb....yea we do have some other issuses to resolve but my trust is in saban for making all the right moves this offseason :dolphins:
