Asu Player Leaves Team

Carpenter is better, but it still sucks to lose depth like that. His options are limited now. He either goes to a lower division school (this late in the offseason) or redshirts a year and comes back. He had some attitude problems too.


QB isn't my concern anyways. I'm interested in finding out if Koetter finally realized that he needs to field a defense.
 
I still cant believe I went to high school w/ Carpenter and used to play football in the street and w/ him and now he has big time potential at a Division 1 school. Guy is a total *** though.
 
Ah, so the coach names Keller the starter, then changes him mind a day later and says nevermind Rudy is the starter. I guess if I were Keller I'd be a little pissed also. Coach is an idiot

Yes he is. I believe he is going with the surest bet (Carpenter is a little better than Keller) rather than planning for the future and playing Keller now and grooming Carpenter. His job is in jeopardy now because of his complete lack of defense, so he is focused on now. Unfortunately for him, he isn't focusing his attention in the right direction.
 
I really liked Keller, but Carpenter played great in his absence.

Yeah he did, But I still think Keller is being treated bad. Just the way the whole situation went down gives me a bad feeling

Keller walked around this school like he owned the place, and he wasn't even the best QB on the roster. He partied constantly, rumors of cocaine, and he was an *******. The team apparently turned on him and had several meetings with Koetter, which is what caused Koetter to change his mind. He also was outplayed by Carpenter by a large margin at the exhibition game.

Well alot of athletes do the same thing. Are you telling me a college student is partying? No I don't believe you. You mean Star athletes get Big Heads. Well rumors are just rumors and until he fails a drug test it should only be a rumor. Chris Leak was also outplayed in the Spring game, But that does not mean he is a better QB ( right now anyway ). Koetter should not have named him the started and than backed down to a few players. I would also say that Keller outplayed Carpenter and thats why he was first named starter.
