During the first day of San Diego State's spring football practice last month, quarterback Ryan Lindley made a mistake. An errant throw. It was raining. Cold. Slippery. Still, he held his breath and cringed, expecting to hear an obscenity-laced barrage coming from the man standing behind him -- something that wasn't uncommon from former offensive coordinator Al Borges.
But none came. That's when Lindley knew that things were going to be a little different on the Mesa with Andy Ludwig running the offense.
"Every coach has their own style," said Lindley, now on his third offensive coordinator. "You adapt and adjust and keep working hard."
These 15 spring practices, which conclude with Thursday's 6 a.m. gathering, have been as much about the players adjusting to their new coaching staff as it was the new coaches learning about their players.
