Everybody knows Yeremiah Bell's injury history.

IMO, the team should consider the role of backup SS another starting position.

For a long time I was hoping the Dolphins would be able to sign Mike Brown at a low price to backup SS but the more I looked at Brown the dumber I felt.

I do like Giordano, FA from Indy, but he is really a FS. Giordano is a ST's ace but I think I found my choice in the draft.

Otis Wiley is projected to go in the 5th.

Do you see this position as important as I do?

Who do think should backup Bell at SS??

we need to bring Cameron Worrell back asap at what ever cost!

Lol Giordano was released. I think Wilson would move to SS if Bell were to get injured. Miami will probably bring another Safety via draft or UDFA. Personally I think Culver could play FS.

Atari Bigby could be a possibility. But remember this, Gibril Wilson is a natural SS so he could switch to that position. I know that leaves FS but we could always turn to Jason Allen to switch back to FS. He has the size to play there and has decent ball skills. His awareness just needs to be better.

I didn't look but do we still have Courtney Bryan? He would be another FS possibilty although not real solid. Free agency has a long ways to go so a backup could be brought in. Too bad Roy Williams wouldn't come cheap as a backup. I know his coverage isn't much but he is good against the run. Last I heard though he wanted to go to a 4-3 team where he could play up on the line more. Keith Davis would be one more option since he has ST's skills. We cut him last year though so I doubt it.

Um no offense but Bigby is signed with the Packers. Roy Williams would be a good addition for the vet minimum, but he wants to start and will not be willing to play ST. I think this position will be addressed via Draft or UDFA. Cameron Worrell sucked, thank god the guy is gone. I never want to hear about that kid again.

yeah i would like to see us draft a young ss in the draft this year

Culver is the backup SS and we will have to wait and see if anyone is brought in to compete with him. The Dolphins are reportedly showing a lot of interest in William Moore at his pro day workout, along with the Saints. Moore is about 6' and 220, but has a faster 10 yd split than S Smith and a better 3 cone time.

Exactly, Culver played well last year, and he is the primary backup at SS. I personally think a FS is MUCH more important . . . as we have 3 guys that can play SS on the team right now . . . and no legitimate FS (tho Gibril mans it this year, he is more of a SS).

which is why I wouldn't throw out Delmas and them guys rom the equation just yet.

I do not think we address SS in this draft . . . we may bring a guy in as a UDFA or something like that, but we aren't using a pick on a SS . . . not after the Wilson and Bell signings.

Sean Smith possibly?

Put me in the Tyrone Culver camp as well..that kid can play.

Smith as a FS?

That worries me a little, because you would be drafting him with your first pick . . . and he probably does not beat out Wilson . . . so then you have the Jason Allen thing all over, where u may switch him to CB . . . but you want him as a FS.

I rather just get Butler and get a pure FS like Delmas . . . and then draft a OLB . . . and be done with day 1.

I'm still perfectly fine with a:

1. Darius Butler
2a. Lou Delmas
2b. Conner Barwin

First day.

Sorry, Missed the Bigby Signing but you are right. Looking at the list there are a couple options. Marlon McCree, Darren Sharper (Not likely as he will be a starter somewhere), Terrence Holt. I think the draft is more likely. With the Trifecta they will not overpay for a Backup they will acquire it through the draft because they will be much much cheaper. Delmas may be gone by the time we pick in round 2 though.

all are forgetting about Culver he played good when he came in he will be the main back-up

I am so glad to see no one responded to the call for Cameron Worrell, is this poster being serious? That guy is charred all over from being burnt so much. No thank you.

LOL, non of you guys have any faith in Courtney Bryan, who's our backup FS right now..huh?
