Backup Kicker?

People know we have a backup longsnapper in JT (or Satale), but did other members of the squad have a go at kicking? Thought it would be quite interesting to see other players trying at kicking.

So, did we try it at mini camp? I remember a few years ago when Wes had to kick.
 
If something would happen to Feely, they would sign another kicker off the street. No need to have other position players practice kicking in the mini camps. Only reason why Wes kicked that one game is because Mare got hurt in the pregame warmups.
 
There are always some decent out of work kickers that we can acquire should anything happen to Feely. I think Feely is a much more reliable kicker than Mare, but he may not be able to boom the ball into the end zone like Mare did. :unsure:
 
90% of the time when kickers get hurt the punter will take over his duties until the kicker comes back or they sign someone else.

I'm guessing that is the case here.
 
Brandon Fields might do in a pinch...he did KO in college. If Feely is hurt in pregame or game time, then Fields would be the man for that game...after that, I'm sure they'd pluck someone off the street to kick...until Feely could return...
 
Matt Prader is my buddy from UCF who is currently on the team as one of the kickers. I a actually hung out with him and Kyle Ekel after their last mini-camp on sunday and went to a chili's for a little happy hour action. I have to say hanging out with those to was pretty tight b/c It didnt feel like i was hanging out with people who played for my favorite team, especially them being so cool as to talk with me about stuff thats going on with the team and what not.
 
What team carries a backup kicker?? I remember when the Rams' kicker got hurt during their Greatest Show on Turf days, they just went for it on all 4th downs and extra points... and were pretty successful at that!

I remember that too, that was pretty interesting... They could get away with it though cause their offense was as strong as ours is gonna be this year:D
 
i have qestion why cant team find somone that can kick punt and kickoff and save a roster spot

Because its very different from doing a punt and kicking off from a tee, so they probly want someone who specializes in one or the other

That was a funny game, ESPN/CBS and that were going crazy over this little receiver kicking extra points... and he scored a TD that game too didnt he? Classic

Welker kicked in high school, otherwise Matt Turk would have been kicking. It's rare to find someone who can punt, placekick and kickoff because of the mechanics involve. I think it's easier for a punter to kick FGs than a kicker to punt. Olindo Mare has punted a few times.
