no new news but i have a gut feeling that we are going to get tommy maddox even though i necessarily wouldnt want him...he seems to be in good terms with mike mularkey so for that reason i see him potentialy becoming dauntes back up

Saban's main priority right now seems to be getting a linebacker(either Arrington or Peterson). Once that is settled, I think he will start to focus on getting a backup QB and backups at other positions. Who we will get, I am not sure. Maddox is a strong possibility because of his ties with Mularkey.

We are lacking depth at lb extremely especially if we go 3-4 a lb signing is a must. I think qb is furthest from his mind and if we do sign one it will be for a major discount.

Whoever it is we have to realize that Pep might not be ready at the start of the season. Maddox is a big possibility with his ties to Mularky. I'm not too sure that Gus was a huge step up from Maddox. We will have to see but trust in whoever they get.
