Simply put, our playcalling the past two games was disgusting.
Week one against Tenn. We have the ball at the 20 yard line in a 0-0 game. I'm not saying they should have went totally conservative, but the way the game was going, a 3-0 lead for us would have been HUGE. First down Foerster decides to throw, result: INT in the endzone, final score 17-7.
Week two against Cincy. We are winning the game 3-0 and have the ball deep in bengals territory. At this point in the game it is obvious that their offense can do nothing against Miami's D. Once again, I'm not saying we should have went run, run, run, FG, but look at the result. On 3rd and 12 Feeley gets picked and we take almost sure points off the board. If you want to throw on 1st or 2nd down, that's ok, but only safe passes. You simply cannot call a passing play on 3rd and 12 when you have lead and can increase it.
Sure the INT's hurt and they were bad throws by both qb's, but my point is that neither of them should have been in that position. Those were two of the worst passing calls I have seen in many years of watching football.
As far as I can see those two plays are almost the main reason the Dolphins are 0-2 right now. Sure the o-line sucked, sure Feeley was getting attacked from all angles last night, and Fiedler is better than an 8.0 qb rating, but the play calling is inexcusable. I would always take a lead with this defense than risk a turnover. Mare is a solid kicker, how about they let him do his job.
