I can't see a worse matchup for our ailing defense than the Baltimore Ravens.

For one, they're the most balanced offensive team in the NFL. Flacco is under center a ton more than any other QB in the league. That OL is in my opinion, the biggest, strongest, best run-blocking group in the AFC, if not, the league. They have 2 deep threats (although Steve Smith has clearly lost a step or two).

How do we play this game? Putting 9 in the box like we finally had to do vs. the Jets is not realistic. Putting 8 in the box leaves Stanford/Aiken/Rose at risk. Play 2-man under leaves our DL in a huge disadvantage. R. Jones is going to be all over the field for this one. The guy's a stud.

Football is a game of chess but man, the Ravens look like they have a huge advantage.

A few things that need to happen for us to win this game.

-Attack, attack, and attack some more their starting outside CB Anthony Levine. Keenan Allen destroyed him last week and he is definitely low on confidence right now.
-The Fins must convert red zone trips into TDs. Absolutely no field goals. What's one way to counter their imposing offensive will on our D? Absolutely cliche thing to say but we are going to need to score more points than they do (duh!). I can't see us running much against them They have an extremely vulnerable secondary so Tannehill is going to need to be at his best a la the Broncos game.
-Don't let Jacoby Jones return kicks.
-Run draws, bubble screens, misdirection plays against this aggressive front 7.
-Don't let Forsett break the big one. He's going to get his yards, but bend don't break. Contain him!

This week's injury report will be huge. Hopefully Finnegan and/or Taylor can go. Clay would be a nice addition but Sims has held his own. and for gods sake, please start Shelley Smith over Daryn Colledge!

Let's go Fins! Biggest game I can remember in a long time. This game will tell us if we've (started to) turned the corner.

Here are the last 5 games played between Miami and Baltimore in Florida

Games involving the Ravens and Miami beginning with the 2003 season (the Ravens on road):

2003 season: Week 11 Sun Nov 16 2003 at Mia Miami 9, Baltimore 6 (OT)
2007 season: Week 15 Sun Dec 16 2007 at Mia Miami 22, Baltimore 16 (OT)
2008 season: Week 7 Sun Oct 19 2008 at Mia Baltimore 27, Miami 13
2008 season: A wc Sun Jan 4 2009 at Mia Baltimore 27, Miami 9
2013 season: Week 5 Sun Oct 6 2013 at Mia Baltimore 26, Miami 23
2014 season: Week 14 Sun Dec 7 2014 Bal at Mia

Primary team the Ravens: 3-2
Points for the Ravens: 102
Points against the Ravens: 76

Seem like if we are going to win it will be in OT. Sturgis should have sent it to OT last year.
Get ready for a close one. Need to hold them under 20 points

Don't put them too high on a pedestal. They lost at home to a team we beat 37-0.

If we play well, we'll beat them.

I'm not expecting a win this week, which means the Dolphins will win by at least two touchdowns.

The way I see it is, we went toe to toe with GB, Detroit and Denver. We have the team, we just gotta execute and pressure Flacco

We need to outscore them! They have a good running attack which is a concern. However, their secondary is not very good and can be exploited. Gotta score points.....

You never know what you are going to get with the Ravens. There are times when Flacco and the Ravens look like the team that won the SB a few years ago, when they got on a roll at the end of the season, but they also have looked really bad.....like when the Steelers beat them by 20 around the midway point of the season, and this weekend in the 4th against the Chargers.

MUST MUST MUST start out strong. Our D is clearly not who we thought they were. The offense needs to control this game and put the pressure on BALT.

Any given Sunday man. It doesn't matter that they lost to a team we wrecked in the Chargers. The Ravens stack up well against our weaknesses, so we have to overcome that. It's going to be a battle between two teams fighting for their playoff lives and the Ravens have had more success than the Dolphins in big games in the recent past. So, the Dolphins must step up to the plate and find a way to win. 7-5 can easily be 7-7 in the next two weeks if we don't address the issues we've had.

Once again this team controls its own destiny. Take care of business, bottom line. Tired of the groundhog's day results.

The people on the Raven forum make comments like this defense cannot stop anyone.

I was more nervous when we played the Packers, Broncos, and Patriots to be honest with you. We've competed and hung with some pretty elite teams. We CAN do it if we want to.

They're no better than us. The record says that much.

We just need to execute and we'll be fine.

Hmmm....Ravens put up two sacks on a Chargers offense that we destroyed to the point that Rivers left the game. To make matters worse, Rivers dropped back 45 times to throw. Two sacks on 45 drops. I quite like our chances.

They're a stellar defensive front against the run but a glance at Ravens' boards shows countless fans saying their weakness on D is to 3 step drop quick passes. What is Tannehill's entire O currently built around ? Again, I like our chances.

This ain't no 2012 Baltimore Ravens. It's our home field. We should like our chances in this one.
