I saw this posted within another thread, but this deserves its standalone thread.

Tony Dungy, Jason Taylor and Ross Tucker are dead on.

RT has not played well and has regressed (under Joe Philbin's watch mind you). However, Joe's career with the Dolphins is tied to RT and if the young QB fails…so does Philbin. Joe must be trying to find ways for this offense to show IMPROVEMENT Sunday.

If Joe's act this week is how he expects to get the most out of Tannehill and hence salvage his HC career in Miami, it is just simply astonishing.

Joe Philbin is losing that locker room and has created a controversy all by himself. It was stupid to float the thought that RT may not start against the Raiders. Regardless of the offensive output this Sunday, once you have players questioning your decisions, it's all but over.

"Joe Philbin’s refusal to name him the starter against Oakland elicited chuckles and puzzled looks from players, who aren't sure why the coach is doing that" .......... even the players don't believe Philbin. Joe is losing the locker room more and more. Unless we make the playoffs I don't see how Philbin is retained. But Ross has done stupider things.

What happened to "Dancin' Joe" ?

JT is right…if you are going to make the change…make the change. However, it is week three…stick by your guy.

Joe is simply a terrible HC.

With Ryan Tannehill taking all the first team snaps at quarterback on Tuesday, Joe Philbin’s refusal to name him the starter against Oakland elicited chuckles and puzzled looks from players, who aren't sure why the coach is doing that.

### Philbin, angered about Brian Hartline’s “golf club” excessive celebration penalty, told players Tuesday that something like that simply cannot happen. Several players blasted the call.

Joe is toast. A few more questionable (downright dumb) game management decisions, and the players will turn in the worst way. The players are on the verge of mutiny...

In the short-term, I think they play hard DESPITE him. It will not work in the end, but I can see the Randy Stark's, Brent Grimes' and Brian Hartline's, playing for each other despite their out of touch coach.

It's really a shame, because I felt like even after 1-2 there was a glimmer of hope that they could get some guys back from injury and Bill Lazor could get his feet under him, and the players could get more comfortable in the offense...

... and then Joe Philbin had to be a ****ing dumbass.

It's not that he called out the QB, but the strange way that he's gone about it. Apparently never bothered to tell Lazor, apparently hasn't discussed it with the players, still giving the QB all the first team reps, but just stubbornly refused to simply say "Yeah Tannehill is our starter on Sunday" and made it a national story. Dumb. Dumb. Dumb.

Thinking back I can't recall a Dolphins coach ever inflicting a wound on himself to this extent. This week has ben mind boggling to say the least.

Joe Philbin does it to himself! The only thing he sucks at worse then coaching is life! The guy is a total squid, a complete bump on a log, and those are the hardest coaches to play for. He is uninspiring, and makes it easy for the players to not like him.

I realize it's just kind of piling on at this point, but it's just crushing how badly Joe Philbin has handled this.

If you're thinking about making a switch just say, "We are considering a switch and we will evaluate the quarterbacks this week. We will make a decision on Wednesday." Simple. Straightforward. You've got a QB controversy, but now everyone is aware of it, everyone knows what's up, and you don't look like a moron. You don't have people speculating not only on whether or not the QB will be benched, but on what the hell is actually going on down in Davie.

If you're not considering making a switch this week, then say "Ryan Tannehill is the starter." Or answer it in a way that makes people think that's definitely the case, like Bill Lazor did. And since he's getting all the first team reps, and everyone on the team knows he's starting, and it's leaked to Darlington that he's starting, why can't you just say the guy is starting? This is front page news on NFL.com getting daily updates now.

And the mind-boggling part, the media keeps asking him, which means that he keeps getting chances to jump out of the hole he has dug for himself. But nope, not stubborn Joe. Stubborn Joe is making mud pies down there.

I'm telling you he is still upset about RT throwing his buddy Sherman under the bus....Joe almost got fired trying to retain him and then RT comes out and bashes him and that's all Ross had to hear......Joe doesn't like his franchise QB making excuses on why the offense fell apart the last two weeks of the season.....it had more to do with no running game and a awful OL than it did a terrible OC......RT better get fixed quick or Joe is going to ride Moore who will either save the season and Joe's job or have the same success as RT and be fired before the end of the yr.....

My only theory left at this point:
