No.. Saban got the team to 9-7 thanks to Scott Linehan. Yes the same guy who's now masterminding Dallas's offense. Once Scott took the Rams' HC job, and Mularkey came in, IMO it demonstrated the real Saban who couldn't cut it under the Big Top. And that includes being unable to bully grown men players and assistant coaches (as the latest evidence, see Kiffin's presser).
Also, gotta believe Gase who knows a thing or 2 about building better QBs wouldn't have passed up Rodgers for a part time SEC running back. Nor do I think he'd browbeat Davie office staff (and yes I know this for a fact) or go out of his way to make players cry and then ostracize them.
As as others before have observed, Gase doesn't seem to be an asshole, liar or quitter. Nor do I think he'd be *****whipped by a wife who couldn't fit in with the sophisticated, successful neighbors living in an estate on the Intracoastal.
Saban might be the greatest college coach ever, but in retrospect, college ball is where his skillset, style, and temperament are best suited.
