• Yes, we understand the Dolphins walking away from Olivier Vernon and Lamar Miller when the price kept going beyond what they imagined.

But this is disconcerting: Between 2008 and 2013, only 15 of their 49 draft picks turned out to be above average players. And of those 15 good ones, eight left after their rookie contract and/or in their mid 20s (including Vernon and Miller) and a ninth was traded after three seasons (Vontae Davis).

The other six? Brian Hartline left after six seasons, leaving Ryan Tannehill, Reshad Jones, Mike Pouncey, Jelani Jenkins and Koa Misi (generously) as the only remaining above average players from those six drafts. That’s deplorable.

There's more but I thought the "deplorable" part was interesting.

Yes sign another corpse wr and put a bow on it

If cj anderson gets matched throw guaranteed money at arian foster...his body is in the morgue

Cant draft cant handle personnel for **** cant handle draft assets appropriately...cant do ****

Anquan Boldin is not a corpse and is going to a team and is going to produce. The guy had 69 grabs for 700 plus yards with brutal QB play.

The team should have a veteran in that receiving room. A strong veteran presence can only help Parker.

Dion Sims? And thank god we signed Cam Wake out of the CFL during that time.

Come on, we need Sammie Smith or Cecil Collins toting the rock.

This is more of a testament against Jeff Irelands piss poor drafting than anything else. Oliver Vernon was over rated and now over paid. Miller was average here. I don't understand the nostalgia. Maybe he will be better behind a better OL and maybe he will be better with another coach. Maybe... but it doesn't justify over paying. The rest were a bunch of saps. Yeah we lost some players but if they were so great then why did we suck so bad? Yeah yeah it was coaching. So it's time to turn this dumpster fire around. I am tired of fretting over the past.

Agreed -

He's so unbelievably strong - freak human strength...

He's got a year left and would be a great asset...

The Dolphins organization has been a disaster with a sequence of pathetically bad coaches - pornstache, wiggle fist, weekend at bernies...

Dolphin fans DESERVE SOOO much more then the sloppy bad product we produce EVERY year...

At least the Redskins are worse....

It's always disappointing to lose good players, but most of those listed weren't big losses. Brian Hartline was nice, but nothing special. Does anyone lose sleep over that move?

I did want the team to keep Vernon and Miller so we'll see how those moves work out. I will say it's imperative that the team reaches a long-term deal with Landry before he reaches the open market.

It hasn't been often that the Dolphins lost a significant player in free agency because, being frank, Miami hasn't had that many. All the great teams lose players along the way, but do a good job of keeping their core players. That's the challenge moving forward.

Just because Lamar Miller was average here, because the past staff didn't know how to ****ing use him, doesn't mean he was an average player. Anybody with a set of eyes saw what a talented back he is.

Totally agree, if we land Anderson it will soften the blow of losing Miller but he is not the home run threat Miller is. I truly believe has the potential to be a 2000 total yard back. He and Shebly were the only two players I regret losing when everything shook out. Vernon would have been nice to bring back but the deal he got from the Giants was ludicrous. I happy for him he got his pay day, but glad it didn't come from us. Although the narrative is Miami lost something with him leaving Mario Williams is an immediate upgrade. I just wish we had gotten Shelby back or signed Hayes. Wake is a pass rushing specialist at this point in his career.

Boldin is a tough guy and obviously a hard worker. He'd be the perfect mentor really. Boldin is also probably still a great 3rd down reciever. he doesn't drop many and never shies away from contact. On second thought maybe parker needs to put on more muscle before trying to be Boldin.

1) Found this notable: WSVN-7's Steve Shapiro, on his Sunday night show (Sports Xtra), said tonight that he spoke to Dolphins executive vice president/football operations Mike Tannenbaum on Sunday and said Tannenbaum told him that "after the deals they've made so far, the 2016 Dolphins would kick the crap out of the 2015 Dolphins. He used another word."

Tannenbaum, undefeated in the offseason.

Ya I just saw that Tannenbaum quote. Someone should tell that short bus rider the point is to kick the crap out of the Jets, Bills and Pats to start. What a waste of space this guy is
