CBS’ Phil Simms would be surprised if the Dolphins win 10 games and contend for a wild card “because of what they’re up against in their division. But Miami can still be 9-7 and have a hell of a year.”Simms was irritated when ESPN (Herm Edwards) ranked the Dolphins’ quarterback situation as the NFL’s worst. “What – are you crazy?” Simms said, rattling off the 49ers, Seahawks, and Redskins among those worse. Arizona’s “Kevin Kolb has the publicity, but Chad Henne is every bit as skilled or more skilled than a lot of guys. I’ve liked what I’ve seen of Henne this preseason. There are some physical things he looks like he’s doing better. He’s big, strong, has a powerful arm. With some other starting quarterbacks, I can’t say that.” And Simms predicts Mike Pouncey will be as good as his brother, Steelers center Maurkice.Read more: http://miamiherald.typepad.com/spor...ue-dolphins-um-postscripts.html#ixzz1XITJAb9C

Are you sure Simms said this! Did he read my posts on Finheaven about him earlier this pre-season. Glad you heard me Phil!

missing from this post is that when asked how the phins could win the game, barry jackson just laughed for 21 seconds. 21 seconds is a long time to just laugh without bringing any commentary to the table. it shows how clueless these guys are...

Thanks for reminding me of ol Herm. There is a security guy at my college who's main job is to just go around and give parking tickets. He looks JUST like Herm. So much so that me and my friends refer to him as that.

If he ever tries to give me a ticket again, I'll have to catch him in the act and just yell "playoffs?!"

Herm is a tool pouch. Marginal NFL player and a mouth that only a New Yawker would love.

Johnson went out on a limb and said that the Fins would be a little bit better..but he will band wagon with the best of them.

Phil Simms always speaks logically about the Fins

Tom Jackson is a jack arse

Hmm. That is against the negative grain of usual Dolphin predictions. I think the Earth is going to engulf itself now after those comments.

Then Simms laughed for 21 seconds

I thought sims was the guy that thought Beck was better than every qb in the Ryan draft lol

It's interesting that some of the ex-QBs like Phil Simms, Jim Miller (on Sirius) and Rich Gannon (on Sirius) are far more complimentary about Henne than many others in the media, like Mike Greenberg (one eyed Jets homer, predicts dolphins to go 3 - 13), Herm Edwards, Chris Berman, etc who all seem eager to see him fail.

It is interesting but not surprising. All of them have NY ties and they worship at Rex Ryan's feet.

Simms has always liked Henne and says it prior to each season. ESPN is playing to the Jets vs Patriots so their robots give analysis thats in line with that logic. I have disliked ESPN since Dan Patrick left and gave sports fans a glimpse of what really goes on there.
