For better or for worse, Daunte Culpepper is going to be the quarterback of this football team. For that reason, Saban will not, under just about any circumstances, draft a quarterback in the first few rounds unless Culpepper retires or dies. Its that simple.

Understand this. Miami will not be a bona fide playoff contender until we fix the offensive line. When that happens, Ronnie, Daunte, and Chris will become annual Pro Bowl invitees. No doubt about it.

It is amazing to me to see so many stupid Dolfans calling for Nick, Ronnie, or Daunte's head. How short sighted are those people?

We will get our left tackle in this left tackle rich draft. I recommend that everyone start clammoring for Gaither, Thomas, Long, and Brown, not Quinn, Stanton or Smith.

ghetti you are entitled to your own opinion but i totally disagree. you don't know if culpepper is our qb of the future and how on earth do you know what saban will do in the draft?? how can you say c-pepp will ever be the qb he once was? what if his knee is never the same and therefore he isn't the same?
if brady quinn is there and we are picking we HAVE to take him. no way on earth you pass up a franchise qb. worst case scenario is he sits and he still has great trade value(assuming c-pepp is the man).
the bottom line is c-pepp has looked absolutely awful his last 12 games and 8 of those were BEFORE his knee got ripped to shreds! he is also going into his 30's.

I agree culpepper will be the QB next year, but I am not convinced that we wouldn't draft Quinn if we can. Saban says he is here for the long term, I would still be extremely tempted to draft quinn if he is there when we pick.

If you have a chance to take a franchise QB , you do it!

I think if Brady is there we'll take him. You can never have enough good quarterbacks as Saban has said. I don't think anyone can be content with what we have. Joey or Daunte hasn't convinced anyone that they're the future of this franchize. No matter what we have invested into them as of now.

I do not know if we do or we do not have our QB of the future...BUT...I can practically guarantee you that the public presentation will be that we would take a franchise QB even if we would not in actuality (do not get sold that we are down on Daunte when Saban spins it that way...the guy has a fine line to walk in maxamizing value and tending to the ego of a QB with a fragile ego anyway).....we have a decent shot at the #1 pick overall....it would be fool hardy to not try and maxamize the value of that pick for trade purposes at the very least....

It all starts up front as far as I'm concerned. If we fix the OL, we basically fix the offense. I think doing that, and getting Ricky back in 2007 will make a significant difference no matter who our future QB is going to be....

I wouldn't mind seeing Culpepper starting in 2007 under better circumstances, and we all know the OL is the main factor in determining that happening. That said, I'm happy with Harrington as well. Under the poor circumstances, he's played better than I expected....

PHINZ RULE!!!

Brady Quinn will flop in the NFL. He's a waste of a pick.

see the funny part is .. miami may not get a top 5 pick .. let's take a look at some of the bottom feeding teams

ARI - 1-7
MIA - 1-6
DET - 1-6
CLE - 2-5
PITT - 2-5
TENN - 2-5
HOU - 2-5
OAK - 2-5
TB - 2-5
SF - 2-5

out of all those teams .. any but PITT could be taking first pick in the draft this year .. so lets take a look at which ones would take a QB .. ARI has leinart, MIA since previously stated there are a lot of LT in the draft i think should trade down and get a 2fer and pick up a LT and WR in the early rounds, DET needs a QB, CLE highly unlikely but would take Quinn if he was there, PITT isn't going to be in the top 5, TENN needs a QB, HOU how many years are they going to let Carr stink up the place, OAK needs a QB, TB i think would take Quinn if he was there, and SF alex smith has shown nothing more than a 2nd stringer they'd take him .. so basically it comes down to everyone has high hopes for this kid .. but he may not even be around come our pick .. we''ll win a few more games and unless these other teams do too we wont be that low .. get whatever you can to help DC and RB succeed .. build an OLINE capable of making a decent QB a great one .. heck its agreed that Feidler sucked .. but even he won games with no run game at all

if saban takes quinn over joe thomas or calvin johnson he is insane...draft tyler palko in the mid rounds

we need Joe Thomas, an instant o-line upgrade. he is a monster run blocker

furthermore .. what good is having a QB if we don't have the means to protect him .. he'd be a bust until we drafted a stong line anyway .. if we're truely building this offense .. build up the front line so the qb has time to make decisions and if not hand the ball to ronnie or ricky or whomever is back there and let them burn(not a ricky reference) through a hole

yup. put me on the Joe Thomas bandwagon!

That fixes LT for YEARS to come.
