Hello all my fellow Phins Fans: :dolphins:

I just want to get your "opinions" on Fred Beasley. Here's a guy who went a bit under the RADAR when we aquired him from San Francisco thru free agency. And I haven't heard much about him since.

I feel IMO that this guy is going to have the most immediate impact on our team this year!!! Look for this monster fullback to open some huge holes for Ronnie and Sammy, as he returns back to his old Pro Bowl form. He can also catch a lot of balls out of the backfield (has glue on his hands). And I hear he's a decent change of pace runner. This guy is the total package!!!!

To add fuel to the fire....I overheard an interview yesterday on Sirius Radio with Randy Cross (former NFL Lineman that played for SF). And in that interview, Cross says that the 49ers made a "huge" mistake in letting this guy go!!!

I know many of you have heard that there have been several reports that Beasley's skills have eroded in recent seasons. But that could have had something to do with the 49ers overall offensive woes.

Cross also raved during the interview about Beasley's hard-nosed blocking.

Cross, who played on all those great 49ers teams that won all those Super Bowls, follows his former club very closely, so I would tend to trust his opinion when it came to the blocking skills of players.

In short, I'm very excited that this player is now on our team and I look forward to seeing him make an impact in 2006.

What do you all think? Your feedback is greatly appreciated...Also please feel free to take part with the attached poll question.

He'll have a big impact on this team, thats for sure.

Beasley will have an immediate impact on a run first offense like ours. Its very important to have a good blocking fullback and we landed one of the best in the league. All the great running offenses such as Seattle, Pittsburgh, and San Diego have good fullbacks, so this solidifies our running game. Fullback is one of the most underrated positions in the game, and its nice to see some people on the boards showing some appreciation.

I like all of the pickups .They fill out important gaps on our team.

i love the aquisition of beasley and i think he will have an immediate impact and especially now he will be key for ronnie brown in his full season as a everydown back and i like having an all aburn backfield even though that doesnt have much to do with anything but i agree he will have a HUGE impact and was a great pick up but i will have to go with will allen as the guy to have the most success this season because cb was a huge need going into FA and i think we most certainly addressed it with signing will allen, im from new york so i get to see a lot of giants games and i saw that he displayed a lot of potential but just had a lot of dopped balls but atleast he was deffending the pass and i think he will turn out to be a huge pick up for us and will have a great year

Beasley blocking for Ronnie and help protecting C-Pep will bring only good things to our offense. Excellent pick-up!!!

Definatly, it is very hard to choose just one. All these guys are going to be big contributer on this team and we're going to need them all to go through the year playing at a high level in order to win.

It is great to hear that about Beasley, hopefully we find a way to take advantage of his talents. I'm sure Ronnie is happy with a guy like him being brought in to block for him. I was a Martin fan before he was let go, he was a bulldozer but he didn't bring much else to the table it seems.

Lets hope we don't see any injuries this year with any of our guys and barring that it looks like we have a good club here.

But I had to pick one just to see the results and I went with Will Allen. He dosn't need to be a flashy big time playmaker like Madison was, if we can just get solid coverage from him and he shows the ability to make some sticks on the perimeter, we have filled a position on this team for years.

where is LJ Shelton?

You're right i did omit L. J. Shelton from this list. That was a mistake. And I think Shelton will also have an "immediate impact" on the O-line and will protect the blind side of our QB (whether its Harrington or C'pep).

However, he won't have the overall impact that Beasley will have in terms of our offense. Beasley, in addition to his great blocking ablility (which will open holes on both sides of the line (Shelton will only impact 1 side of the line), can also catch the ball and run the ball. He's what is known as a "triple" threat. The 49ers never really took advantage of all of Beasley's talent. Teams will now have to plan for Beasley's impact on the offensive side. His presence out there will open up our aerial attack and our scoring will go up!

Beasley is the best fullback that we've had here since Keith Byars!!!

Wow man...I love to be optimistic but this is an fullback in the tail of his career. The fullback position isn't really an "impact position" so to speak. I'd say anything after solid blocking we get from his is a bonus and he is more of a piece of the puzzle than a game changer. If I'm wrong and he get 500+ all purpose yards this year on top of blocking great, but I'm not getting THAT crazy about the pickup.
