I'm glad we picked Beck over Quinn.

1- he got his contract taken care of and signed before training camp. Beck signed a reasonable deal. Quinn wants top 10 money even though he's a 20's pick

2- based upon PFT report. http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm
he was charging fans $75-225 to sign autographs, refusing to sign items that fans brought from home.

3- Seems less egotistical. Beck seemed to hit it off well with teammates (especially Booker)

I highly doubt this was up to him, and im sure he isnt pocketing the money. This probably has to do with some sports collectible store who is supplying all the merchandice, the article says he was at the mall, I highly doubt the guy went to the mall brought a bunch of pictures of himself set up a table and started charging for autographs, this has to do with some sponcer's promotion

He doesn't make the rules but he DOES pocket money. And since he most likely was the main attraction, he could have easily told the store not to be so freakin cheap or else he won't show.

He could also have easily gone outside afterward and signed autographs for free. He's gonna make enough freakin money as si, now he wants to get more through a autograph show. I hope he made a lot becuase he won't be making the big bucks for long!!

The difference in character between Quinn and Beck is huge. Beck is a humble Eagle Scout all american type of low key respectful hard worker. The contract getting done speakes volumes for the guys class and his motivation. Quinn, on the other hand, is really full of himself with his Hummer and all that type of flash. He is totally out of his mind relative to the money he is demanding. He's already a pain in the butt for the Browns who made a huge investment in Quinn, the #1 for next year. Now, he wants crazy money so I'm feeling good about our guy Beck. We can sit back and see how many hoops the Browns have to jump through to get there guy signed and how much camp Quinn will miss. The Browns really stepped up for Quinn and this is how he shows his gratitude.

It's pretty much a given that if you prefer Brady Quinn not only over John Beck, but any player taken in rounds 1-3 you're not mentally fit to comment on the game of football.

He doesn't pocket the money he definitly get paid to be there and may get a % of everything sold but he doesnt pocket 75+ for every single thing he signs, and Matt Leinart did the same thing last year he held out becuase he wanted top 3 money when he was picked 10th and nobody broke his balls, a lot of this stuff has to do with his agent as well. And the majority of you people who are now bashing him are the same people who wanted him and are still bitter we didnt pick him so your trying to find a reason to be glad we didnt pick him, Being a HUGE Notre Dame fan and watching the guy play for 4 years and watching his interviews i know for a fact he is a high class guy.

This is an off the field comparison. And so far, I am much happier with Beck.

I realize that. I am happy with him so far as well. But I guess I am tiring of reading hundreds of threads about how much better one is than the other at ... insert reason here, when they haven't done squat as far as football is concerned. Next we'll be hearing about how much prettier Becks wife is than Quinn's gf.
