Nothing to earth shattering but some interesting tidbits.

"John Beck estimates he's thrown 8,000 passes since the Miami Dolphins new regime took over, deploying his reputation as a gym rat to dive into the challenge of becoming the starting quarterback."

"One report says Beck threw just one interception in 21 practice sessions this spring."

Read this earlier. Doing a football camp this summer in Utah with a bunch of other former BYU players.
Trying to convince my wife to take our son.

Once again like in my new thread, the article says Beck will likely be the starter, based on what? I guess you could expect a Beck bias from a Utah paper but really they make quite a statement based on no real information. I know some will take this wrong but really nothing has been shown from the coaches to make any player the likely starter.

From the aticle

McCown, who had mixed results in 31 career starts with Arizona and Oakland, is seen as a safety net for the Dolphins. Bill Parcells will likely make the QB job Beck's to lose. Henne led Michigan to nine comeback victories during his college career, but was 0-4 against rival Ohio State. If Beck or McCown don't answer the challenge, Henne is viewed by some Dolphin insiders to be the long-term answer at quarterback.
So far, nobody at Miami has thrown Beck a bone about where he stands — offensive coaches have been more focused on providing feedback to all quarterbacks on how they want things done, what needs to be tweaked and emphasized. "The focus has been on us and how we can change this

Who are these insiders who think this, and how could anyone possible assume any such notion when the kid hasn't even taken ONE preseason snap?

What we did is get ourselves a stable of young qbs looking for one to emerge as a quality NFL starter.

Everytime some reporter says something in favor of Beck you start elluding to the writer's bias! :shakeno:

Here we go again this thread will turn it a Beck bashing thread. Cnt we just support all the QB's?

Im sure there is no bias in favor of Beck from a Utah paper lol. I took all that from the article, which gave no reason for saying Beck was the likely starter. Im just trying to figure out how thye came to the conclusion that he was the likely starter.

Perhaps a more revealing answer would be just how much JB's being named as starter would ruin YOUR season? (not your team PC lipservice... but how you really sincerely feel). I've no doubt your answering that question honestly would prove a real revelation for you.

If I could live with 5 years of Fielder and 4 games of Trent Green Im sure I wont go kill myself because John Beck is named the starter this season. See unlike many of the Beck supporters I would be fine with it while Im sure many Beck supporters would go in full panic mode of Henne is the starter. I love how some people think that I would be so upset if beck wins this year's competition. I have never said that Beck sucks once, I just dont think he will be a good starter in the NFL.

What team will you root for if Beck is the starter in Miami? Clearly taking a shot at him every time. Would it kill you not to post in a thread about Beck so the rest of us could enjoy it just a little? PLEASE?!

Most people that want Beck to start (myself included) may talk a little crap about Henne, but repeatedly say if he wins the battle then cool. That is not the case for the small percentage of Henne supporters on here, most who are still butt hurt we didn't select Matt Ryan #1 over all.

It was a good attempt at disinformation but it fails miserably on delivery.
Overall I give it a 6.

Let me correct the post with a little more factual chutzpah

“Unlike most other Henne fans I have no problems if Beck would start the season.”

I could care less if our starting QB was Willie Wangbat. The who or the name is irrelevant. As long as the best starts, does it matter? If it does, one should question their fan-ship.

wow you sound like a beck fan

Enjoyed the article. Of course this reporter is going to call it Becks job to lose. He is the home town boy and coming back to put on a camp. Its pretty clear from the coaching staff that a decision on a starter has yet to be made and it probably will not be made before the week between the 2nd and 3rd preseason game, which is logical. I am pulling for Beck. I just like the kid. Whomever wins the start I will support 100% and hope the right choice was made. (what more can we do).
