I believe it was just before last years season that I posted about the possibility of trading Ryan for Rivers. I think there were contract issues between Rivers and the Chargers. Anyway, where do you think we would be today? Would Rivers have helped us out, or hurt us more?

I think we need a change at qb for the sake of change. Meaning,we just need to end this experiment.

Rivers should be on a playoff team, he has all the tools imo. He would last 2 games here due to scheme and OL play. He is too old, we need a vet and young guy as 2nd who has potential unlike Moore. I doughty that the 3rd has it either but time will tell.

I think we would be moderately better, but not a playoff team by any stretch. Rivers is the better QB by a long shot - maybe HOF quality in some people's books. However, the OL would also have hampered him, and honestly at his age may have injured him by now. Tannehill has his issues, but seems to be pretty damn nimble. I don't know many other QB's that could take the hits he does and stand up.

I think Rivers would have been crushed behind this O-line, we'd be in deep with his contract and we would have lost draft picks in order to make the trade. So all-in-all we would have lost on that deal. Just like we're about to lose on a high 3rd round pick and a high 4th round pick because we traded up for a WR that doesn't even play.

I fear Tanny's taken too many hits to the head, not that he was a genius coming out of college. Rivers would have been a HUGE improvement.

Maybe Tannehill has just become gun shy over the years of pounding. He hears feet coming and can't think quick enough. That's why I believe he goes for the short pass so often. River could have brought that down the field vision Ryan never seemed to have. Also, Rivers has a better deep ball. With these receivers my opinion is that Rivers would have been better.

I don't think there would be much of a difference, if any, but I do think Rivers is a better QB. I just don't think anyone would produce behind this line.

Also, I hate 'if' arguments, bc there's no telling what would really happen.
