...that Garrard could be Moore's backup? What do you think?

There is no way David Garrard wins the starting job. He might be given a chance to "win" the job but I just can't see him doing it.

He's 34. He didn't play at all last season. That's a huge deal in the NFL. You can't take years off like that and just step back in unless you're some kind of freak athlete. David Garrard is not that kind of player. Matt Moore has the momentum going into camp.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if David Garrard doesn't make it to the 53 man roster.

What I believe that if Tannehill is there at 8, he's the pick.
He knows our system, has a big arm and is very talented.
But he is very raw, he needs to sit for a year and learn everything our guys can teach before the 2013 season.
That's one reason I believe it was only a one year deal.

They're getting Tannehill or Weeden. I effing LOVE Weeden.

My ideal situation is WR at #8 and getting Weeden in the second round. He'll be a steal there, too. The age thing is so overblown.

Garrard is quality backup and healthy competition. It's a 1 year deal. Nothing wrong with kicking the tires on a guy who has recently been very good.

...that if moore gets injured, we have a potentially capable back up qb on the ready.

One year deal means just that. He probably wont be back in 2013. Moore & either Tannehill or a qb next year (top 8 pick) will be the qb's in 2013. The FO knows that they have missed on RG, Luck, Manning & Flynn. I hope they dont think that Smith from San Fran is the answer. I dont want him in Miami as I dont think he is better than Moore.

I agree, if its not tannehill themn maybe weeden, or cousin but somebody else will be our starting qb next year when gerrad and moore are both free agents

That's a solid reason to draft, in the late rounds, huge OL men -- not just to protect Moore, but to open holes for Bush.

sees your point. with Bush as our premier weapon now, it seems the fo just might be compelled to put some emphasis on the line....again.

Did you feel the same about Peyton?

Both Pro Bowl qb's in 2010.
Both injured and missed 2011
both age 34+.

They didn't miss on Flynn. They didn't want him as their future franchise QB.
