BELL STAYS PUT
A league source tells us that Dolphins safety Yeremiah Bell has opted to stick around.
Per the source, Bell has agreed to a one-year, $1.4 million contract. The move also is being reported by Adam Schefter of NFL Network.
Bell started the 2007 regular-season opener, but suffered a ruptured Achilles' tendon and missed the rest of the year.
He'll get a chance now to prove that he is healthy, and he'll re-enter the free-agent market in 2008. (Unless, of course, he plays so well that the team opts to restrict him with the franchise tag.)

Good move by Bell. Show the Fins what you can do and get ready to get paid.

Smart move by YB. I didn't think Yeremiah would get much action on the FA market, given his injury history. Anyways, welcome back YB!

Come on back Bell. I really hope he plays well enough to be franchised like someone else threw out there. I guess we won't be signing a safety with a big name now and this 1 year contract could point to us drafting a S to develope.

We need reliable Dbs.. When Bell went down last year that was the end of our cohesiveness against the pass. And really we spent the whole year trying to replace him. We secured him for a nice little price and he has the opportunity to make the most of his situation.. for us.. and for him. One year deals smell of incentive to me!

Great news.. He should play lights out because it will be a contract year. They always do

I must say, I'm glad that he's comming back. Now hopefully he can get healthy. That was a freak injury...

Glad to hear it, bell is one of my favorite players.

I'll tell you why this is good for us: The middle of the field was always WIDE OPEN on defense last year. Not until JA was back there did teams start to respect our safties ability.

If YB can regain his form of a couple years ago I like (not love) our secondary. Now if we could only get one more corner...

nice, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy again. Bell, allen, and Daniels the safeties now (per roster on Miamidolphins.com)

glad he is back and hope he can stay healthy, the guy deserves a break,
