Bell has been good and has earned a shot at starting at Safety. Allen will be great but is unproven in the NFL. Bell is fast and can stop the run well. He deserves a chance to shine.:dolphins:

i think bell is great and deff underrated but jason allen should claim the starting spot

why cant allen play SS and bell play FS? Bells natural position is FS, and SS tend to be a little quicker

also, is that sig real or photshoped? if it was its amazing

how do you figure SS are generally quicker?

many of the more hard hitting safeties in the nfl are free safetys, the strong safeties generally more responsible for pass support. give me an example otherwise, there are a few.

If bell "deserves" to start, he will beat Hill out for the spot. plain and simple, hes got camp and preseason to win the job. If he doesnt, then he dont derserve nothin.

actually its the exact opposite....ex. Sammy "slow ***" knight was a SS. still love you Sammy!

yeah that is one of the few examples, he acutally was pretty fast in his nawlens days.

No he shouldn't. He just came up big when we needed him to last year, which was usually blitzing from the dime package.
People think of Yeremiah Bell and think of the Chargers fumble, the Jets fumble recovery, all the special team plays but the truth is that he hasn't really proven he can cover as well as other guys on the team, and until he does I can't say he's a starter.

Roy Williams... Thomas Davis ex GA LB...Rodney Harrison....Donovan Darius....i could go on all day

SS is definitly the big hitter position man

Yeah SS is definitely the hitter where FS is the pass support. Always has been that way.

Remember the Brock Marion (FS) Brian Walker SS years?

John Lynch
Bob Sanders

etc...

I believe the opposite is true. SS are usually closer to the line of scrimmage and come up in run support more often.
But, as I understand it, in Saban's schem they are interchangeable.
