Bellamy is pretty good and had chemistry with the team...Saban did say how good Davis and Mann looked in Camp. will they both make the squad?

Bellamy never honestly made the team, realeasing him proves nothing at all.

It's probably more Lienhan's decision than Saban.

Barring injury, I doubt if either one makes the 53 man roster. We'll carry 5 or 6 WRs, and ahead of them are:
1. Chambers
2. Booker
3. Thompson
4. Boston
5. Welker
6. Gilmore
7. Newson

Yeah I agree that the release of Bellamy is good news for Josh Davis and Maurice Mann but lets not forget about Bryan Gilmore and Kendall Newson who in my opinion, I feel are the top leading candidates for that 5th WR spot (6th being Wes Welker).

Before Newson got injured last year, he had put himself in position to be the next behind Thompson, before the Booker trade. I think he has the ability to play in this league, and would much rather see him make the squad than Gilmore, who plays hard but just doesn't have the size to make the impact on the game that Newson does.

1. Chambers
2. Booker
3. Boston
4. Thompson
5. Gilmore
6. Welker
7. Davis

Thats how I think it will look come opening day, I am REALLY pulling for Davis, he has great hands, and hes just one of those players that I have a great feeling about.

I highly doubt we will keep 7 WR. Plus Saban like Newson..Davis will be practice squad, either Gilmore will be released or we could keep 7 WR and 1 FB (Heath Evans)

Yeah actually the guy Saban was raving about was Newson. He's mentioned Mann and Davis, but he flat out praised Newson (remember, you use the words "unique ability," and the guy MUST be doing something right).

isn´t newson injured again ? i think he pulled his groin or hammy

Mann and Davis have skills....

Davis is second on all time receptions in the NCAA. You have to have some skills there don't you? Someone said he had no business beating Daniels. Why not? Some of you on this board get caught up in what you read about guys. He has as much speed as a slow fellow from Mississippi; I think his name was Jerry Rice. Yet Rice embarrassed a few dbs in his day. Davis has skills that had him as a draftable guy.
Mann was actually drafted last year by the Bengals. He obviously had the skills to be drafted. He is not a undrafted free agent as was stated earlier. Miami picked him up from the Bengals practice squad last year. He was signed to the Dolphin roster last year.

Don't get too caught up in projected rosters or projected cuts. Hype is always going to be a part of this board and as long as it lasts there will be surprises if we believe everything we read.
