Sportscenter just reported tht Benson was carted off the field after tonights practice. He had his arm in a sling and they don't know how serious the injury is. This would be a huge loss for the Bears if it is serious, considering Thomas Jones is already out indefinitely.

Anyways, bad luck for Cedric, stinks to see a RB with great potential get injured. The Bears are very lucky they didnt trade Jones away for Lelie.

Throughout camp, Benson has taken his share of hits. At the tail end of one practice last week, Benson bowled over safety Chris Harris and violently spiked the ball. He downplayed frustration afterward.

Some have theorized the defense is making the second-year running back earn his stripes after he missed all of training camp last year over a contract impasse. Smith downplayed that on Friday night's play.

"Our guys don't hit unnecessarily out here," Smith said. "It's a team. But you're going to get hit from time to time. Nothing cheap about it."

Asked for his opinion of the play, Brown shrugged.

"You're asking the wrong cat," he said.

Seems like things may be getting a bit ugly in the Bears training camp.
