I know its still early in the preseason, and its too early to judge, but looking at the stats alone, Berlin has been "performing" better than Alex Smith, Aaron Rodgers, and Dan Orlovsky, to name a few. Rodgers and Orlovsky have also been playing against 2nd and 3rd string D's.... Only Smith has played against first stringers.

What's my point? maybe our "QB of the future" is right under our nose. Not only do i hope Berlin makes the team, i hope he excels under the tutelage of whatever veteran QB wins the job this year.

I won't create another Feeley vs. Frerotte controversy (we have enough of those), but i think that Berlin (if he can keep this up and grow in the system), but Berlin can very well turn into our franchise QB. Honestly i think Sage is out-performing both the F's right now... give Sage a shot with the first-team next week versus Pitt... lets see how he does.

But back to my point - who here sees what i am seeing in Berlin?

not only is Berlin not even playin agaisnt 2nd stringers, hes hardley playing agaisnt 3rd stringers, hes playing mostly agaisnt what he is, practice squad players and free agents.

Unfortunately, Berlin has this negative stigma placed upon him since his junior year at UM. He has never been able to completely shake it off.
Depth chart should be
1)Gus - veteran for now
2)Sage
3)Berlin - future.

Berlin is playing against guys who will be slicing meat at a deli or working for Fed Ex in about 10 days.

Berlin is playing against other guys who won't even make the team. Yeah, Berlin could be a good QB, but the chances of him doing so are very, very, very little.

and..........

This thread is about Berlin

(not to mention your wrong, Feeley started the Chicago game):shakeno:

The only way to find out how he's really doing:Take a chance and put him against 2nd stringers. Its preseason. Why not?

OMG I'm gonna shoot myself in the face! Why do we have to go over the same effing thing over and over and over and over and over and over I'm so sick of it:yell: :fire: :fire: :fire: :yell: :yell:

Its preseason and he's playing against 3rd-5th stringers. I'm not saying hes not good I'm just saying that we've gone over this ten million times, we don't need to keep starting threads about it every half hour.

PS1- Sorry
PS2- Please do not respond to this and tell me to calm down or somthin  because I know what would be coming, 'If you don't like it don't read it.'

Exactly. Case closed.

i'm not talking about starting.... Feeley played well into the third quarter, did he not?
The Jags had their 3rd stringers out then... we still had our 2nd out because we had no time of possesion.

i recognized a lot of the same jerseys for the jags out there on defense when Feeley was out there and when Sage/Berlin was out there. Keep in mind Sage and Berlin only played several minutes in the 4th.... The jags had the same unit out there.

you are right - this thread isn't about feeley. but give credit where its due, berlin held his own against the same squad. berlin also performed admirably last weekend as well. I'm not starting a berlin bandwagon, nor am i saying we should start him... but he shows promise (moreso than other team's draftees do), so we should capitalize on that and try to mold him.
