have a friend who went out with berryman last night after his pro day at ISU and he sounds pretty confident he is gonna end up in Miami. what round that is, is anybodies guess, probably 6th or so. The guy has had extremely bad luck and got in some stupid trouble but his a hell of an athlete and has a motor that won't stop. I think Saban would be a good fit for him

Was he confident because of a good showing, or that he just thinks it's gonna happen. I'm intrested how it went yesterday for him. Were any Phin reps there?

I thought his Pro Day was on June 22??? Why does he think Miami will draft him? Has he had extensive talks with Saban and company?

Berryman seems like a talented, explosive guy who would be a great fit if he has his head on straight. By all accounts his ability is through the roof. I hope that we get him in rounds 5-7.

I like him too, but I don't think anyone will draft him. Living in Iowa I here all about him. He's very talented, and would be happy getting him, but I think the only player that will get drafted is Ahmad. Players value seems to drap a bit when it comes to Supplemental picks. The only way i see him drafted is if he blew away a GM yesterday at his pro day. Call it a gut feeling.

He had a decent day...ran a 4.6...17 teams were there and the dolphins were one of them...he did have extensive talks with them. Colts were the other team really interested. with it being a supplemental draft, it's real hard to know if someone could jump out of nowhere to grab him a round earlier than everyone else...

Your Welcome CK, anything else i can help you with?? j/k:lol: Hey CK, 4.6 is that fast enough for Saban to draft this guy??

LB Berryman (6-0¾, 235) was clocked at 4.67 in the 40 (1.61 after 10; 2.71 after 20), 4.39 in the short shuttle, and 7.33 in the three-cone drill. He also had a 9-foot-11 broad jump, a 32-inch vertical jump and 17 lifts.

how do the rest of his drills figure against some of the other guys? those are all his results from yesterday

It\'s so hot... milk was a bad choice.');}

Hmm those numbers are a bit less than I was expecting. I thought he was over 6'2" and 240 pounds.

At those numbers he'd only be 3 out of 10 decile grade, or approximately the same athleticism grade as Daryl Tapp, Freddy Keiaho, and Charlton Keith...just a tad bit below Parys Haralson.

Overall, athleticism being where it is...being that his playing style (high tackle production) has probably fits better to linebacker duties than other DE to LB converts...considering his production and now his athleticism...I'd say 7th round.

But, it should be noted that if we use our 6th rounder we get somewhat of a price break because of the Joey Harrington agreement that is already in place. In essence using a 6th on Berryman would be like using a 6th rounder in 2008 on Jason Berryman...so our choices are to use a 6th in 2008 to pretty much be guaranteed to get Berryman, or to take our chances using a 7th in 2007.

He may go undrafted with those numbers...and that could be exactly why our coaches are reaching out to him to build a relationship.

4.67 is slow and 235 is to small for Saban linebackers. He will not be drafted by Miami IMO.

I thought Berryman was a little bigger than 235. Anyways, I don't think running on a slow track helped him much. I am not impressed with him only doing 17 bench press reps. Obviously that's something he'll have to work on. IF he is drafted next month it will probably be in 6th-7th rounds.

Gil Brandt of NFL.com thought he did a good job in his drills.

Coupled with his character issues, I believe he will go undrafted. However, that does not mean Miami will stay away from him. If bgphins is to be believed, we've already reached out to the guy...and I'd say for good reason. I believe we plan on bringing him down here as a UDFA.

He does not have size or speed that would rule him OUT of our defense either...especially considering the abilities he has shown at the point of attack on the DL.

he'll get drafted, too many teams interested in him to not get drafted. the guy is an animal on the field with a motor that won't stop...if you have seen him play, he'll get drafted.

I have my doubts.
