The Miami Dolphins have retained two exclusive-rights free agents with qualifying offers: wide receiver Davone Bess and kicker Dan Carpenter.
We all figured they would be, but now it looks like it was finally done.

One interesting note is that Joey Haynos was also an exclusive-rights free agent, but no word whether he was given a qualifying offer. If not, Haynos stay in Miami could be over.

EDIT: Haynos has also been retained.

Interesting story on Haynos. It would guarantee the Fins drafting a TE. Haynos was a real goof blocker, it would suck to see him leave. Ould have like to see him as the thirf TE

do we know what money and for how long

I like bringing Bess and Carpenter back, but LOVE letting Haynos go! I think a full offseason with the team and Sperry is a much more complete TE. I can't even count how many times I see Cam taking on the LB and holding his block while the safety levels Haynos and makes the tackle.

I was thinking about this the other day... when are we going to give these guys decent money? I mean Bess is the best 3rd down WR in the NFL and he's one of the best on our team. Carpenter is also among the best kickers in the NFL. Both of these guys are getting paid peanuts.

PAY THE MEN!!!!!

Nobody forced them to sign the contracts.

Fins are gonna save as much money on DC & Bess,as possible. I love them both, but you dont sign them long term until you have to. Haynos was one of the better blocking TE in the league hope he is retained

The Miami Dolphins have retained all three of their exclusive-rights free agents, signing them to qualifying offers this week.
According to their agents, receiver Davone Bess, tight end Joey Haynos and kicker Dan Carpenter have all signed their one-year contracts, which will allow each to participate in the team’s offseason conditioning program that begins on Monday.

Haynos was awesome in the run game, nice red-zone threat as well.

Haynos and awesome don't belong in the same sentence. Calling him average in any phase of the game is a stretch. Every game I saw him flopping on the ground like a fish out of water after being blown off his block. He is too tall, to weak, and not athletic enough down field. His height alone is a weakness because the more compact LBs and safeties get leverage on him and move him. After a day and a half Sperry showed he can contribute more and then Haynos and was shelved until the final 2 games.

I'm never going to forget Haynos fumbling while running with minimal contact in the Pats game last year lol.

Haynos role is not that of a pass catching TE in this offense. He was used as a blocker and exceeded. When his name was called upon he produced. He is ranked 21 among TE, by Profootballfocus.com. I personally like the guy and have seen improvement from year 1 and it should continue.

Yeah well PFF also ranks Bess better overall then Moss, Ocho, Marshall, Holmes, Colston, Smith(car), Calvin Johnson etc. Using that site other then a source for stats that can't be found on nfl, espn and other sites is a bad idea. We have enough 1 demintional players on this team and we need to get away from that. I won't be surprised one bit if going into the regular season our TE roster is Fassano, Sperry and a draft pick.

Love the fact that they got these guys back under contract. Finatic is right, this is a business. As much as I love them as players and would love to see them get paid. Its usually best for the team to wait until you have to pay them. Since they are so young, their options this year were to play with the Dolphins or not play at all. Good move by the Fins.

Haynos is an OKAY TE. He is a pretty good blocker but has been blown up on more than one occasion. The one thing that makes me like this guy over your other average is the fact that he is 6'8''! That is a huge advantage in the redzone. Sperry showed more of an upside though so i would not be disappointed if we let Haynos go.
