Bess' fumbled punt should've been challenged

From what I saw a Jets player touched the ball before it hit the ground, giving possession back to the Phins. Coaches should've been on that.
 
Bess clearly caught and fumbled the ball, the ball hit the ground and the mad scramble for the ball started. No jets player touched the ball before Bess did, it was a clear fumble to me.
 
Yeah, it hit Bess, then he dropped it = a fumble, and Jets' recover.

If it hits a player that is trying to return the punt, and they drop it or it just touches them, it is a live ball, and doesn't matter what team it touches after that.
 
Not what I said. After he bobbled the catch a Jets player touched the ball before it hit the ground. It's happened a couple of times this year.
 
Lol at no one understanding/reading what you posted.

I agree, they should of challenged it. It hit another Jets player before it touched the ground, situation happened in a Tampa game earlier this year I believe. There was also an inadversant whistle when Bess was about to fair catch the ball, but I guess it was a fan..
 
the man is trying to say that because Bess called for a fair catch he has to be allowed to make the catch without any interference. So if he bobbles it... double catches it.. whatever, it can't be touched till it hits the ground. Now if he doesn't call a fair catch, it's fair game.

Interesting. I didn't know that. Hard to believe no one on the Fins sidelines didn't know about it.
 
guys he is right it happened during the titans vs. texans game it should have been challenged and we would have won. the returner can bobble that ball all he wants until it hits the ground its ours.
