Best And Worst From Barry Jackson

Because Paul is a rookie, full stop.
totally different point. bottom line his run blocking was terrible last year and it wasnt the fault of the guards. can he get better? sure. will he be good, anybodys guess at this point. he didnt show it last year, and that was on him, not eichenberg

You’re comparing a Rookie to a 13yr pro bowl player. A top 5 left tackle when on the field but subject to availability.
not the point in question, which was is blaming it on the guards right or fair. it is not.

Not surprised with the putrid stats for Hill. He is a lazy ahole who doesnt care about blocking for his teammates.
And how many times did he catch one of those stupid short passes running laterally and run out of bounds.
The play calling and route running designs by this weirdo coach was just pitiful . How many times did Hill ever try to run thru contact?

Tyreek with the worse YAC on the team & the worse blocker... and people around here claim he isn't declining.

I was thinking the same thing. throwing Paul out there with historically bad guards, he can hardly be evaluated
If Paul is going to be the guy this year, then they absolutely must go out and sign a starting caliber LG to put next to him. I think Paul will be fine personally, but let's see if they help his progression or hurt it.

There is no way Hill stays on this team. His rapid decline last year topped with his last game antics, he just can't stay. There is no rush though, he's still going to cost the team $28m no matter what without a restructure (which they better NOT do). But they just need to do something before August 31 when his $15m option bonus kicks in. Next year he's $51m against the cap, and no way in hell will he be on the team for that.

Personally, trade him for what ever pick you can get for him, even if it's a 2026, just get him out of here and keep him away from the team.

We knew Paul was a project so I'm willing to give him this coming season but if he doesn’t make it then he's just another wasted 2nd round pick.
We'll let Grier know that you have allowed him a second year, Danny. You're a helluva guy.

Have to get a couple good guards. With that said, based upon Grier's comments, prepare yourself better or worse for him thinking Kion is going to fill one of the spots when healthy. Not saying I;m for it, I just am reading the Grier tea leaves.

Kion showed some upside. I don't think he's a starter yet, but I have no issue with him as a back up. I hope they have learned their lesion. Rumor was Grier wanted to address the line last year, but McDaniel talked him out of it and said his scheme would hep the line...we all know how that went.

I expect at least one starting caliber guard to be signed and one drafted.

I am not trying to defend him totally for his sorry-assed year, but Tyreek did have a wrist injury that required surgery. Say what we will about our expectations, but these guys are still human. Trying to block someone with that going on would hurt like a bitch for any of us. That said, defenses have figured us out and I think we need to find a way to maximize our resources as we adjust the strategy.

▪ Worst passer rating against, among backs (minimum 15 targets): 1). Impending free agent safety Jordan Poyer (130.1 passer rating on 24 for 33 targets for 294 yards). 2) Cornerback Cam Smith 122.4 (16 for 19 for 174 yards). 3). Impending free agent safety Jevon Holland (111.3, on 24 for 39 for 302).

Yikes! I am pretty sure Poyer is gone for good. I sure hope Grier doesn't re-sign Holland. We have to live with Smith and hope he develops.

I think it more likely Kion is pencilled in as a swing Tackle backup if Lamm doesn't return.

I agree it would be serious incompetence to go into the season with Smith as a starting Guard.

Rumor from where?

Asking so I can determine if it's a credible source, or someone pulling something out their a$$.

Poyer sucked harder than a collapsing neutron star. He was bad to the point where you almost think the Bills paid him to sabotage us.
