I think there's a reason the media gets trashed so often for being clueless and that article is why.Think we should send him a letter to inform him that Stroud wasn't a FA? Bill Parcells loves the media, he respects them.:rolleyes:

Anytime you call a team a winner for signing an injury prone player who was suspended the previous year for steroids says it all.
 
Well, I disagree a little about the jests...they made, what could be some really good moves albeit overpaying for them. They seem to think they are close and making the additions they have, could put them in the next level. The OL could really be something special, even tho Woody is just a shadow of his prior ability. The reason they are getting vilifiied is because they appear to have overspent on aging players...but that may give them a 2 yr period to reach the next level. The question with the jests, to me is the QB position. Chad is done and Clemons, while flashing some bright spots, was very inconsistent. Their push depends on Clemons, IMO. If he develops further, fine but if not...they've spent a lot of money for nothing...

I also feel that Pace is ready to prove his worth this coming year. Mangini, like BB, knows how to use the edge DE/OLB to perfection...and Pace showed when he was used properly, he was a star...

All that said, I hope that they fall on their faces and play like the Jests we all love to hate...The only thing better than the Fins doing better is the Jests doing worse...
 
The only guy we really overpaid was Pace and we got into a bidding war w/ you guys so that drove up the price. faneca got paid a few mil more than the medicore derick Dockery got last year. this writer was incorrect w/ his guaranteed $ #s b/c we only gave Jenkins $9.5 mil not $20- that is a HUGE difference and Cleveland just gave Shaun Rogers over $20 mil guaranteed so the jenkins deal looks even better.

Regardless, enjoy your salary cap :up: You're going to have a fun time for the next 3 years if you don't knock the Pats out, and I don't see that happening even with the new aquisitions.

We have a good cap guy, they wouldn't be spending like this if our cap was being destroyed. Remember we got rid of Vilma, we are getting rid of Robertson. That's a nice chunk of cap room right there and we save by not having to give them new deals. I'm not worried about our cap w/ Tannenbaum in charge. We were supposed to be in cvap hell 2 years ago and w/in a year we had a great cap situation. if we spent like these every year or every other year I'd be worried but this is the first time in over a decade that we've made moves like this.

Im sort of sick of talking about the Jets on this board, no offense. I mean, they added guys in FA. Neither side should open their mouth right now with useless jargon. On paper, are they improved? Sure are. Cant argue that. Could it blow up in their face? Absolutely. Did they sign 4 cant-miss guys? NOPE. Not by a long shot, in fact, only Faneca is the closest thing to a sure-thing. The rest will have a lot to prove, especially Woody and Pace.

So I think theres legitimate questions on both sides of the coin. Lets just let it play out.

Hey newb, you might want to chill with that kind of banter, there is plenty of Jets fans that come on this site and take their lumps when it doesnt pan out for our team. We are here to talk football with fellow AFC East fans, not to start crap. Seems to me that there are a ton of Fins fans on here that have an extensive knowledge of football, they contribute to the board with their wisdom, now im not saying your not one of them, but posts like that make you look like your on here just to take jabs at people. IMO.

You haven't been around long enough to know me but I don't disappear when my team stinks and I don't crow when my team does well. I would have been here had the board nopt gone down for most of the season, I was posting up until the board went down, I posted here in '05 as well.

Take your own advice, if the Jets are doing well I want to see you acknowledge that and not run and hide.

These two Jet fans have been here over the years and always post, please stay on topic. They did not start the trash talk in this tread.
