imo, the Dolphins best draft pick so far has been KENDALL LANGFORD, he will anchor that LDE for many years to come, reminds me somewhat of R. Seymor, with a little more experience, some good coaching he will be a FORCE for many years for the Dolphins Defense. I believe in time Phillip Merling will man the RDE slot, i dont believe his is fully recovered from his groin injury that pushed his Draft stock down a bit, but he has all the tools you look for in a 3-4 DE, just my uneducated opinion :)
Go Dolphins!

1. Langford
2. Long
3. Bess

Langford has been huge, he's been very stout against run..
merling is a better pass rusher than langford.. both are very nice to have as DE's... we actually got some good depth on the DLine

thats exactly the order i would rank them, we think alike, have a great day!

were not very good at pass rush with our de, starks is the only one that can get in, thats why we send our cbs to blitz alot

again
1. long, future hall of famer
2. bess, our slot receiver for the future
3. carpenter, so far looks like a kicker we will keep
4. langford, don't see him like a pro bowler

i agree about Jake Long (Future Hall of Famer Maybe, but thats a big statement at this point), left tackle is hardest position to transition to at this level, but he is well on his way, Tony Boselli re incarnated but only BETTER imo. Bess great slot receiver, Carpenter will be money down the road for us, i just feel it, Great overall 08 Draft, its only gonna get better, man i am so pumped about this team again, years of frustration are going down the tubes, FINALLY!!!

To have so much production from Long, Bess, Carpenter and Langford is fantastic work from the guys and coaching staff. Lets not forget that Thomas was also looking very good until he got injured. Merlng has been a contributor and Henne is waiting in the wings for his chance.

To have so many rookies making impacts the future looks very rosie for the Fins

I have been thinking that the only DE that can get to the QB is Langford but unfortunately they take him out on 3rd downs which makes no sense to me. Watch him closely he is a bull in a china shop when he rushes but he does not get many opps. I have been on his bandwagon since he dominated the Senior Bowl, he absolutely has Pro Bowl potential. I call him the second coming of Leon Lett.

well,is hard to tell who the best of the bunch will be....I think Long and Langford have both been great so far and have started every game...Bess has been fine too and I'm glad to have him....Merling has contribute but his best years by far are ahead of him of course...then you have Thomas who got hurt but might be our starting RG for years to come..then you have a fine kicker too...that's a great draft but wait,it could get better....Henne might turn out to be a great QB for years to come as well....that's an amazing draft...hard to believe that some people on this board are still not happy with our front office.

Ozzy rules!!

U gotta put Long first. We could still be in a similar position without Langford, Bess and Carp . . . but w/o big Jake, we would be pretty bad on offense and Pennington wouldn't be as successful.

1. Jake Long
2. Kendall Langford
3. Davone Bess
4. Dan Carpenter
5. Phillip Merling

I'm sure Donald Thomas would have made my top 3 if he would not of got hurt and hopefully Henne is the future . . . excellent draft and UDFA decisions.

If we can get lucky with LB, CB and S next year . . . I will be very satisfied.

You forget we have won our last few games by stifling defense. Without Langford I don't think our run D is nearly as good.

we play in a 3-4, no DE is gonna get a lot of sacks in a 3-4, thats not their job... their job is to occupy blockers to allow LBs to get to the QB, plus to stop the run...

Richard Seymour has only had 2 years with more than 6 sacks in his career (and this year is one of them)... but hes still a perennial probowler...

I was waiting for someone to say this. Rushing the passer isn't Langfords role in the 3-4. He's a run stopper. Our pass rushers are mainly the OLBs.
