It seems like every year the "experts" and fans are putting more and more emphasis on teams draft classes and what they've done the past 3-5 yrs. I'm new to these boards, so if this has been discussed I apologize, but i was wondering what people thought the best draft class ever by the phins was? It'd prob be easy to say Marino's class just bc of him, but I'm looking overall, so please include all top picks, not just the ones that panned out....

Its a tough one, how about the class with Webb? I would like to see what we say about this draft class in 5 years.

1983 Marino,Clayton and Roby
1996 Gardener, Abdul Jabbar, Zach, Wooden and Shane Burton

Also like the year we had Coleman and Vincent in the first round too.

83' was good, producing Marino, Roby, Clayton and Mark Brown.

05' still is looking very strong as a future contender for this.

77' gave us Duhe and Baumhower.

But the winners have to be the 1968-1970 drafts that built the core of our great teams.

1968 - (1) Larry Csonka
(3) Dick Anderson
(5) Jim Kiick

1969 - (1) Bill Stanfill
(2) Bob Heinz
(3) Mercury Morris
(16) Lloyd Mumphord

1970 - (1) Traded for Paul Warfield
(2) Jim Mandich
(3) Tim Foley
(4) Curtis Johnson
(7) Jake Scott
(12) Mike Kolen

83 Marino...A once in a lifetime player who was a joy to watch even though I'm not a Dolphin fan

2005 has been a good draft so far. If Roth has a great year like we expect him to have and Travis Daniels returns to form, this draft has to be one of the most productive ones in Fins history. Let's not forget that Alabi has shown that he might be at the very least, a very good back-up.
Ronnie Brown
Matt Roth
Channing Crowder
Travis Daniels
Anthony Alabi

2005 is definitely looking like one of our best drafts. Four of those picks are now starters, and three of them were actually rookie starters.

1 - Ronnie Brown
2 - Matt Roth
3 - Channing Crowder
4 - Travis Daniels
5 - Anthony Alabi
7 - Kevin Vickerson

It's going to take a few years for Miami to rebuild from the terrible Wanny drafts.. So many other teams are so far ahead of Miami because they had decent drafts in those years, and Miami ended up with close to nothing.. So sad how Wannstedt ran this team into the ground and his effects still permeate to this day
