Was wondering what others considered to be the best running back Marino played with during his time with Dolphins? Based on both receiving skills & running skills

I think the former UPS truck driver Bernie Parmalee as well as Karim Abdul Jabar, and Keith Byars even though he was a fullback, weren't too bad and maybe underrated.
I don't have too many memories of watching Andra Franklin or Woody Bennett.......Your thoughts?

Loved Bernie Parmalee....don't know that he was the best, but he was my favorite. Great special teamer, and a pretty good running back. I recall a few 100 yard performances from Bernie. We don't really have any great RB's to choose from in Dan's tenure.

It's like asking to pick out the nicest turd in the box.

I'll take Parmalee

Very well put.

Parmalee could be the "most likeable".

"Best RB" during Marino's time dosen't exist and that was a large part of the problem along with a porous defense.

Its nice to see Parmalee on the sidelines as an asst. at ND.... when the camera is on Charlie Weiss, I often see him next to him. Not sure what he was doing before that, Weiss must have thought pretty highly of him!?!
Hope it leads to bigger and better things.

Tony Nathan early in Marino's career was the most versatile back he had with the fins.

I always kinda liked Irving Spikes too.... even though he didn't get that many touches.
Troy Stradford had some production

RB--Mark Higgs
FB--Tony Paige
3rd Down--Troy Stradford

Byars would have been a better choice as a running FB, but for overall duties I prefer Paige, although I wouldn't argue with anybody who picked Byars.

The one that could have been the best was Cecil Collins. If that guy had his head on straight, he may have been the best Marino ever had. We were on a roll until he broke his leg, got caught playin' with himself in his ex-girlfriends apartment, went to jail etc. etc.

I liked Keith Byars... he had the talent to make game changing plays. I know there is a large contingent on this board who will never forgive him when he was a Patriot and allegedly was revealing the plays that Dan called that helped NE win the game. But I am just judging him on his talent level alone.

Give me Keith Byars. Not as my every down back. But I always liked that guy.

Nathan really was the best of them all....he didn't have great speed but he had some nice moves and was a very good receiver too....on the ground he was always above 4 ypc.....Andrea Franklin was probably the best FB as he could block and run too....there was 1 year when he had 3 or 4 game of over 100 yards I think....too bad he got hurt when he was in his prime.....I like Byars too but I really think Franklin was better, he just got hurt.I'd have love to see Marino with the 72 running backs tho...lol

Ozzy rules!!
