While I understand the down side of the Dolphins job(lack of premier players on roster), there is this:
When new coaches come in, they tend to re-build a team in the image they want. A coach coming in here pretty much can start from scratch and build the team the way he wants from the bottom up. He can go looking for his own QB. He can find the guys he wants and easily jettison the junk. There is a little bit more talent here than advertised, but I think part of the appeal with this job is that the new coach won't be saddled with big contracts with guys that may not fit his vision. When Jimmy Johnson came here, he rebuilt the defense entirely. A new coach will want to do the same on both sides of the ball. It does stink we don't have more draft picks and don't pick super high, but with some deals we can add a few here and there, hopefully pick the RIGHT guys. As good a job as Jimmy did picking defense, he did miss on a lot of picks, especially on offense.
