The best possible scenario for us would be is we could trade next years first for Alexander and Surtain for KCs second (46). Our draft could then go somewhat like this........

2-QB Alex Smith-QB of the future, with Alexander coming via trade. He fills our biggest need. You can't get a Franchise QB in FA only in the draft.
46-DT Antajj Hawthorn-at one point he was an early 1st rounder. But now any team can have as a early to mid second. We grab him.
70-WR Vincent Jackson- Great WR and a steal at this point should be a first rounder but no publicity lets him go in the area he is projected(I thought I was the only one who liked this kid)
104-S/OLB Ernest Shazor- Late first early second rounder that dropped all the way to a day 2 projection with a bad combine. After all night of thinking about it Saban grabs him for the value he can be.
138-C Ben Wilkerson- injury killed his one time 1st round projection. Saban is creaming his pants that he can grab him so late. However the center position is REALLY deep if he is gone look for Richie Icognito to fill this spot. Either way MCkinney out. New guy in
216-T Trai Essex- 6-4 324 creates a widebody for a project at Tackle.

If we could get this to go down life will be grand for many years to come. What do you think?

Best case scenario in my opinion is forget edge and alexander. Im tired of us trading away first round picks for players we think will save the team, we need to build through the draft. Trade Surtain for a 2nd rounder, then trade down to #5 with the Bucs. We can still probably get Ronnie Brown at 5, and now he will cost less and we just added a few more picks. If Brown is gone take Benson or Caddy.

Whats so good about getting RB's that are nearing the end of there prime and will want to be paid large sums of money.

ABOLSUTELY NOTHING, which is why the BPS for us is the TB trade, get Benson, Brown, or Caddy, then a QB in 2 and go from there. Maybe even a WR or DB/S in 2 if there is a can't miss guy that won't fall to round 3. Or QB AND WR/DB/S in round 2 assuming we get a 2 from Tb and do the surtain deal with KC

There are too many posts saying we trade Pat for KC's 2nd, the problem is, they arent doing that, if they do give um their 2nd then Ill be happy but right now there is a possibility they will sign Ty Law. I personally dont think we will get the 2nd although I would like to..

We're trading Surtain because we dont want to give him a huge contract!

Both of them want huge contracts!

is it just me or is "Richie Incognito" like, one of the coolest names ever?

I said it before and I'll say it again...

getting a RB before having the QB situation settled is turning a cart from a front drive mechanism to a rear drive mechanism - something it is not designed to be. Get the QB settled first. RB's are deep in this draft, and usually easier to pick up than a QB any day of the week. We aren't going to seriously challenge for anything better than a playoff spot, if that, this year in all probability. Take this year to get the QB in and let him grow, while putting the rest of the pieces together next year, and possibly the year after that. At the end of two years, the Dolphins will be a younger, stronger, better team. Right now they are in complete overhaul

Edge and Smith would both get 12 million to sign. Alexander as well. The whole trading for a back is just show we aren't afraid to take a QB.

Definitely isnt just you

Lol, that name screams badass, like Homer Simpson when he changed his name to Max Power. In fact, I am going to start a new thread right now..........

We're trading him away because Saban's defensive philosophy doesn't require a 10 million dollar CB. I'm not completely for trading next years first or against it. I generally don't like trading first rounders but.....

We can still trade down with the Bucs and acquire 2 extra picks and draft one of the recievers left at #5. This would give us a solid 3WR set with Randy McMichael and all of a sudden Shaun Alexander. Houck is the man and will probably make our line look 3 times better then last years. Even if Feeley doesn't pan out, we know Frerotte knows the system and can complete the deep ball. I'd give the Offense an overall B with these guys in place. Not bad..

Again, I'm not sure how I feel about giving away another 1st round pick but I can see what he may be thinking here....explosive offense.

Ty Law is going to want more money than Surtain, and he still has screws in his foot that wont be removed until May. He might be able to run again in June.

The Cheifs have a choice: Pay a hobbled, injury prone 31 year old Law to get torched by Randy Moss twice a year, or pony up for a younger healthier Surtain, who will give them a chance to cover Moss.
