with a weak AFC sitting at 4-2 and a schedule that doesn’t look especially challenging down the stretch, good chance the Dolphins make the playoffs this year. Tannehill or Osweiller will be QB in 2019 season, but both are limited and older QBs. 2020 is supposed to be another epic QB draft class with Alabama’s Tua expected to be the prize.

What should the Dolphins do this offseason to prepare? Any players to trade? Would you trade this year’s first for a first in 2020?

Hum good question gotta see how the draft pans out but we gotta get the oline fixed next draft and a big alpha reciever.

If we hadn’t racked up a meaningless win or two last season, you’d already have your heir to RT on the roster.

Hoodie threw that game.

Best option is probably to drastically improve offensive line in 2019 draft. Maybe take a mid-tier quarterback to develop in the 3-5 round range. As far as 2020 goes, if the team is bad in 2019 maybe all you have to do is stand pat. Hard to say, it's still a ways off.

Hope someone offers you a trade Down in 2019 draft ...similar to what New Orleans gave up (#1 next year) to get Davenport. Move Down get the guard center from Mississippi st. That’s a start.

During the draft, trade our 2nd for a 1st the following year. Just have to determine who the cellar dwellers are.

This is really the only shot. I’d go as far as to trade the first round pick as well. This team isn’t going to be picking top 15 in 2020. Too much young talent on D. You might need 3 first round picks and if the team with the #1 overall needs a QB it stilll won’t be enough. The good news is I’ve heard (Stick to Football Podcast) that there is a very good chance both Haskins and Herbert stay in school.

Yeah, during this year's draft I think you need to trade down and get picks in next year's draft.
We don't have a logjam anywhere, or a player in a contract-impossible situation a la Khalil Mack.
Not going to be easy to accrue more picks without sucking.

You don't wait until 2020 to draft a QB. Each year the draft experts compare that year's crop to others. Yet they don't really know how that QB draft class will be until several years later. There is never a sure thing. You could be drafting a Peyton Manning or a Ryan Leaf. If there is a quarterback available this year that you think could be a good quarterback in the NFL, then you draft him. Thinking two years ahead is difficult, let alone even the current year when you don't even know where you will be drafting.

I would get all the beef I could in the 2019 draft. OL and DL and possibly a LB. Then wait for the 2020 draft to get my QB. Unless a really good QB falls to us in 2019.

Every team is looking for the 2020 draft to get a QB, so most teams are thinking ahead too.
