There was an interesting tidbit during Ross's conference call today that I haven't seen discussed much.

When asked if he consulted Parcells on Dan Campbell he replied that he did... Seems like Parcells is still a strong force in the org even from the shadows...

Tannenbaum is a Parcells guy, Campbell is a Parcells guy, and if things don't work out with Campbell, it's safe to say that the odds favor a Parcells guy as our next head coach as well since Tannenbaum will be making the pick and Parcells will assuredly be consulted.

At this juncture, in hoping for a miracle and Campbell proves himself worthy enough to win the permanent job because if not I think we will end up with Mangini, Romeo Crennel or some other Parcells retread.

I was scorned by Tuna leaving the job undone, but he still a great football mind.

Don't care as long as Campbell proves to be something.

The league is full of Parcells guys. Like him or not you can't deny the influence he has had on the league. Most of these guys are in some way influenced by him.

I don't blame Ross for consulting good football people on this move.....and Parcell's is good football people.

Tuna didn't bring a good team here. But at least he didn't leave us with a soft team, which is what we are now.

Sidenote: Tonight on PTI Tony and Mike said the Dolphins should hire Parcells to be the head coach.

The tuna influence is strong with Bill Billichick & Tom Caughlin as well. :d-day:

It's not the philosophy that is the problem. We were a really tough team. The problem is terrible drafting and poor in game management. Plus not having a QB killed us.

Sean Payton liked the hire too…another from Bill's tree.
