Big News: NFL NETWORK to carry 8 REGULAR season games next year

From the NY Times:

The NY Times reports... The National Football League will place eight prime-time Thursday and Saturday games on its NFL Network starting in 2006, a senior league executive said. Yesterday morning, the league decided not to go into business with Comcast and to put the games on the NFL Network, which has had preseason games but no regular-season broadcasts. Comcast had no comment.

Wow, I dont like it that they are moving games to cable, especialy on Thanksgiving.

most cable companies dont' even carry NFL NETWORK. This is there way to strong-arm their way onto about every cable provider.

Exactly. And charge a pretty penny for the rights. I'll be able to watch the games in the sportsbooks here like always, but it stinks for the typical fan around the country. Many of the companies won't take the NFL Network, and the ones that do will raise the monthly rates guaranteed.

Likewise. It's bad for a lot of football fans because many don't have satellite.

Exactly. It's a smart move by the NFL. It will hurt the people who don't or can't get the NFL Network. I'm happy I get it...it's free with my cable carrier as long as I'm a digital cable supscriber.

Bah, Thursday and Sat games. That's just like the last 4 weeks of the season when most teams are out of it anyway. We would've secured the division by week 6
