I really owe Brock Osweiler an apology. Before the last preseason game, I thought he was a nightmare waiting to happen as a backup QB. But something in the way he played in the last preseason game against Atlanta made me reconsider that. However, I tempered that with the realization that it was the last preseason game and Atlanta didn't have a lot of starters playing. Two weeks ago in New England, Osweiler looked really good in mop-up duty. Again, I tempered that with the realization that the game was out of hand and New England started to play more zone and backups. But today, Osweiler walked out on the field, and with our offensive line held together with duct tape and spit, and facing one of the best defenses in football, he made plays and looked like he belonged there.

I also want to give huge props to the offensive line, the wide receivers (Wilson especially, and O'Leary, the TE! What a surprise he's been!), and the whole team for not quitting and fighting to the finish against a really good team. And last but not least, Gase and Loggains did a decent job of play calling against a really good defense. HUGE win for Miami!!!!

He deserves some love for sure. He shook off 2 picks - one which was basically a pick 6. He looked very comfortable working the offense, sliding away from pressure - showed very good pocket awareness and made some very good throws in key moments.

He managed the game really well and brought a fire that I havent seen from Tannehill in a while. Obviously, his numbers look better than they were because of the 2 huge plays from Wilson. He had a few awful throws, but he's Brock Osweiler. Lol. The OL did a great job giving him time. He stayed upright for most of the game, something Ryan hasn't been able to do. If Tannehill had the football sense that Osweiler has, he'd be a damn good QB. He just doesn't understand the game...

I'm happy for Brock. That was an epic game today and he was at the center of it. He showed great poise in the pocket and made some key completions with defenders in his face.

It was mentioned in the pre-game that Gase "dumbed down" the offense for Brock.....meaning he kept it much more basic and much simpler. If that is the case, we should dumb it down for RT as well. The play calling today seemed more in tune to a legitimate offensive effort. Sign me up for that dumbed down version next week as well. I wonder if Gase's full offensive package is just too smart for its own good.

It was about as much as we could ask for. However, there is no way I want him as any kind of long term starter. The pick he threw was horrendous. Luckily we had a run game today which made the 3rd downs manageable unlike they have been the last couple weeks. I really wonder how lingering this shoulder injury is going to be. Still hoping Tannehill is back next week.

Tanneweiller played pretty decent today.

I loved the way Brock came in and was in command at the line calling out audibles and making throws moving the chains and scoring points. He might not have a cannon for an arm but last time we won the AFC East we had Pennington and he didn't have a howitzer either.

Brock is playing like he has something to prove. Motivated and fiery.

Have to say I like it quite a bit. No I am not sold, but I am not sold on Tannehill either so I’m all about the guy counting about 25 times less on the cap

Beasley’s article:

Brock told Drake that Parkey was going to miss and he needed him to bring the swagger and confidence he’s been playing with all day.

Nice. Drake had 22 of the Fins final 28 yards.

Way to pick him up Brock.
Nice.
