I really do think that a key to this teams' season and future will be how well Chad Henne performs.

Gregg Williams will certainly challenge him and throw him a lot of looks. In the Saints/Giants game, the commentators mentioned that in the previous Saints game they had sent either a CB or Safety or both on 24 plays which is just flat out nuts. And this scheme was also shown against the Giants.

For all intents and purposes, Henne is a rookie and Williams will attack him as such.

The Dolphins had a great game plan and it unfolded very well against the Jets where Henne was well protected (from a play call standpoint) and not asked to do too much which allowed him to get confident and get momentum for when he was asked to make plays. Lets hope an equally impressive game plan has been developed for this week.

1st down is the key, we need to get into manageable distances and against the Giants they had a number of secondary blitzes coming off the edge or up the middle on either 1st or 2nd down.

OL and Backs, (backs in particular) will have to have their heads screwed on and eyes open when in pass pro.

Run game wise, the Giants had success running offensively left. and up the middle on occasion. Saints seemed stout when the Giants went right.

Henne is the key in being able to have a high completition % on the early downs and his reads will certainly be tested. WR's must be on the same page. Bess and Camarillo should show their value here.

I do feel we will get a strong sense of what Henne can do going forward.

He better watch out for that ex-packer safety free roaming out there.

Enjoyed your post but I do not consider Henne your typical rookie for all intents and purposes. He was a 4 year starter for a major college and had the luxury of being mentored by Pennington for year and a half.

I disagree about Henne not being asked to do too much against the Jets. He was solutely clutch on 3rd down passing plays, particularly in the 4th quarter, when he was able to show his arm strength and touch. Henne is LEGIT!!!

Every week is a big week in Henne's development. The good thing is he has at least 5 weeks of game film to study and prepare. I expect max protection schemes and more dinking and dunking down the field. Ginn's bomb was on a blitz package.

Perhaps playing the Jets was the best thing. We go against a really aggressive defense with suatained pressure. Big difference if we play the Bills then play the Saints. I expect Henne to be his usual unflappable self.

Enjoyed your post

Thanks.

Fair enough

I did highlight that he was in fact asked to do more, in the early part Henning managed his impact on the game.
