I have no link, but I've heard that at Louisville's pro day today Powell ran a 4.5 forty on his first attempt and then tweeked a hammy on his second.

DB Johnny Patrick ran a 4.43 forty. He's going to make a really good corner for someone with a zone based defense.

Just passing it along since I know there's some Powell fans here on the board and he didn't run at the combine.

Now back to watching the Cards dismantle Marquette in the BE tournament...

GO CARDS!!! but yeah.. do you know what the te ran? i hope we snap up powell

I haven't heard what Graham ran, but hopefully it was faster than what he did at the combine. I've heard that Gnat was impressive and that Stingly is going to start getting some looks by teams because he tested out really well. 28 reps on the bench, 4.8 forty at 314 pounds.

whats the injury history with powell at louisville??? back does me no good if he can't stay out of the trainers room...

grahams not worth a draft pick...way too slow

The injury history isn't any thing more than any other running backs. He's missed some games here and there, but nothing major. This year he missed one game due to injury, but rushed 31 times for 140 yards in the very next game. His main problem was the poor coaching he received during the 3 year Steve Kragthrope era here at Louisville. Charlie Strong realized Powell's potential and basically told him before last season that he was now "the face of the program". Powell responded.

Yeah, I'm disappointed in how slow Graham ran at the combine. He's a fine pass catcher and I think he plays a little faster than his 40 time but its still just too slow.

thanks for that...i thought powell broke his wrist or something like that a couple of times??? i may have him confused though...ok...i still think he's a 4th round at best value...not enough wiggle at the 2nd level for my taste to be any higher and the upright style gives me a little bit of pause...gives guys a lot to hit

I can't remember that he ever had any wrist problems, but maybe he did early in his career. I don't remember. Yeah he's an upright runner so he's going to have to be a part of a backfield platoon, not a 25 carry guy.

I think the 4th sounds about right I'm not sure yet if he's the 1 or the 2 in a 1-2 punch. He's got good speed but he's also a big guy. A lot of people think he runs too high but I only see that when he's in a footrace. When he needs to he can get low. My question is why didn't he run at the combine? Was i a hammy there too? Same with Taiwan Jones. I was excited to see what the kid could do and he needed to do well coming from Eastern Washington.

i definitely view him as the 2...change of pace guy...definitely not giving him 15 carries a game in the pros
