Bill Lazor Fired

And by the looks of it he shouldn't have replaced incognito. He's currently rated as one of the best guards in the league
There are plenty of fans on this site that would have protested Cogs staying because he spoke poorly of Martin's vagina. That's a no-no in today's hypersensitive culture.

I think there is an unidentified lack of qualified individuals able to properly develop a QB in this league. So much so that most players must develop themselves or have extreme physical gifts to ease the burden on existing resources just to be successful in this league.

Of the people who know how to develop QBs, well.... they have rings on their fingers. And we have a complete organization full of people who don't.

We are directionless on a boat with no rudder or oar.

Gentlemen, we've reduced Suh to a meaningless DT. That is an epic accomplishment. How many other teams would pay a man this much only to render him meaningless?

The deficiencies in this organization are offensive.

In August Carolina was begging us to call off the dogs in practice. We've even had Tennessee complaining we played too hard. Yet in December, Carolina is 11-0 and we are 4-7.

Carolina didn't even have enough WRs in August. We have sufficient talent to make this work. What we don't have are coaching and leadership.

Gawd we suck.

Several things...

The QB's on each team are vastly different players...Cam Newton is a stud, not as a passer, but as a player...he makes up for many deficiencies on that offense, the line isn;t great, Stewart and an average RB, but team fear Newton will beat them and he does...

The Dolphins offense always looks good in the preseason against very basic defenses...the scheme works in those scenarios, the QB can operate in those situations. the issue is the regular season where team start to game plan for the phins and start to game plan for Tannehill...it is a trend he has shown his whole career. As soon as he is forced to make a play on his own or the play doesn't go as designed then he is done. Many QB's are like this...good starters, but won't ever give you an advantage at the position.

As far as an organization....it is a cluster ****, fortunately I follow more college then the NFL, but to see the hiring practices when it comes to the front office and coaching staff it is sad. I will say that there is a overall lack of talent on the team as a whole...You have maybe 10 guys who are quality NFL starters Tannehill, Suh, Landry, Jones, James, Pouncey, Wake, Parker, Albert, Grimes....everyone else on the roster is a role player at best. Team completely lack explosion on offense...I love Landry and think he is a great NFL player, but there is no ****ing way he should be your offenses best player. The defense has so many holes and area's of weakness that I'm more surprised when we hold a team under 30. That LB core is god awful, the DB's outside of Jones and Grimes are a joke and the d-line which was suppose to be an elite unit looks more mundane each week.

I'm not done as a fan, but I find my self caring a little less each week...drastic changes should be coming, but with Tannenbaum in Ross's ear, will it even matter?

Hiring practices in the NFL are based on a hybrid form of nepotism. They hire within families and coaching trees. Colleges sometimes get into this practice and it rarely works. But many institutions have enough balance of influence, either from boosters, alumni, state legislation for public schools, administration boards, fan attendance, conference governing bodies, NCAA, changing leadership and a litany of other influential bodies, to prevent long term corruption. In almost any level of competition as long as you are winning then most bad habits are overlooked.

But losing slowly becomes subject to every influence. One of the bigger differences in the NFL and college is all NFL organizational changes are enacted by ownership. And sadly, most NFL teams are entrenched in their own dogma. Either persisting with their own leadership and decision making style or consistently changing it trying to find something that works.

The prevailing problem we as Dolphin fans have is a lack of true dedication from ownership. Ross is not a good decision maker. At least in football. He's a man with money. A man who spends based on what other's tell him. He may know business but he doesn't know football. Jerry Jones has paid a dear price for the same education. But credit Jerry for having the one quality that will make him a complete success in the eyes of his fans and his peers: Jerry bleeds for his team. Jerry Jones has made the Dallas Cowboys his life. What he has fumbled and bumbled in bad decisions, he has learned from and doubled down every time. He might be an arrogant prick, but when he screws up its his money and he always learns from it. He's slowly gotten better at his own expense. But he hasn't wavered in his loyalty to the Cowboys. Love him or hate him, the fans know Jerry will spend his last dollar making the Cowboys the premier organization in the NFL. The proof is in the pudding. Since his last championship, they have been abysmal by their own standards. Yet the Cowboys have become more valuable as a franchise and have ascended to legendary status in NFL business models. And that financial juggernaut persists through every mistake and pays for the next attempt to get it right. The fan base has grown and the Cowboys are relevant even when they aren't.

We have an organization that most everyone associated is no longer present. We discard our past players like yesterday's newspaper. We have a tiny statue of Dan Marino out front and nothing that truly embraces our past. We only call on the past when we've run out of options. We bring in a new coach ever couple of years and completely gut the organization. We have attempted nearly every major coaching tree and football system in the NFL and in it's past and we have nothing to show for it except losing records, discarded coaches and players jettisoned because we have no idea how to coach them or they don't "fit" whatever system we have in place at that exact moment.

Coaches from our past won't touch us with a 10' pole. People distance themselves from us. We have no loyalty, why should they?

I've believed for a very long time that what we truly need is a leader with patience, vision, dedication and devotion to this team, these fans and these players. We need a Howard Schnellenberger. A man who transcends the current moment he is given. We need someone to bleed for the Miami Dolphins. It's obvious we've not had proper football ownership. We tend to become an annoyance or hobby to every owner we have.

You know where Jerry Jones is on Game Day? He is at the game. Bleeding for his team.

Since there is not an abundance of football savvy billionaires, then we need the next best thing: football savvy executives and coaches. And I hate to say it, but we've had some of the best ones ever involved in the NFL. Shula, Parcells and Johnson. And at least in a college regard, I'll include Saban in that list. Some teams might get one crack at a legend, we've had 4. The problem is we weren't patient enough. They proved they could win here, but it wasn't enough. We are always looking for the next "great" whatever; lightning in a bottle. Always thinking that demanding results yields results.

Want this problem solved? Let Parcells back in the building. Gut this team one more time. Endure Tannenbaum. Like him or not, he is the name on the Parcells' ticket. Let Parcells' have his way. Let him bring in all of his people. Stop showing legends the door. Stop disrespecting football greatness simply because they haven't delivered a Super Bowl in 4 years. Give him 10. Understand just how massive this responsibility is and how long it will truly take to shepherd to a Lombardi. Become a launching pad for coaches, not the funeral parlor.

We have a football legend willing to help even after we've disrespected him. It's time to listen. Ross doesn't know how to win Super Bowls. Parcells does. Parcells bleeds football. Why wouldn't you want him in your corner?

Like it or not, Parcells and his family tree are how we get back to greatness. And we could have already been there. Until we stop and listen, we're going nowhere.

According to Pouncey Incognito was about to sign a long term extension with us before that all went down. I think Martin was an extremely sick individual and decided to screw the team, Incognito and the NFL in the snakiest way possible.

Probably knew he couldn't make it in this league, and wanted to take a few guys out with him.

Incognito is the exact type of person I don't want anywhere near my football team. He is a perfect fit with his degenerate HC up in Buf.

I'm tired of us drafting ***** players on the Oline.

How do you get an owner who bleeds our colors? Look locally. I am not a fan of the Arison family but they are local and bleed south florida. Though I am not sure how much he likes football.

I said from the get-go that getting an owner who just wants to have a football franchise for resume purposes is a bad thing. Ross tried to buy the Jets in the first place (a few years back). But he won't sell unless he can get his dream team (Jets), very much like John Henry did with the Marlins and he then bought his dream team the Red Sox. No matter how crappy the attendance is or how bad we are every owner makes money on their franchises. A neat little feature stolen from the evil socialism is guaranteeing that: revenue sharing, centrally licensed and sold merchandise, salary caps etc.

I read an article that the worst franchises with the lowest attendance (and the Dolphins were mentioned as well) still made nearly $80 Million in net revenue. For Ross it is more about increasing his revenue on the franchise level rather than bleeding aqua and orange. And don't be fooled. The stadium renovations were not paid through the Dolphins. It came through the corporation who owns SunLife. And that company makes money hand over fist.

The only way Ross will go is if he can take the franchise with him or gets a sweetheart deal which enables him to buy or buy into the Jets.
