I was thinking while lying in bed and just realized the BIG picture. I understand perfectly now the way Parcells is fixing this team. Lets look at his Big moves. First he fires all the most of the coaching staff. What does he do, he hires HIS type of coach. Someone he knows the Bill Parcells defensive and offensive philosophy. Bill believes that football can be one on the front 7. Look what he is doing with his signings.
On defense- Stop that run and rush the quarterback and hope that your CB and S can make a play or two. He added 3 more defensive line men in the draft and I bet he is going to use them all. He added personnel to our secondary to at least make competition. I think we are going to be alright, with Will Allen, Y. Bell (If he’s 100% healthy), Jason Allen and someone like Michael Lehan. We are just lacking a playmaker and we will be set.
On offense- pound the Ball (He even let go of L. Booker). Control the clock. Avoid turnovers. Protect the quarterback.
That my people is traditional and basic football. It’s boring but effective. He is right, you can win the game this way but you will not dominate. Look at what he did in Dallas. This philosophy won them various games, but what made them go over the top was the development of the passing game, which will come.
So in conclusion, Bill is taking the right and necessary steps. This year Parcells establishes his foundation so that next year they just build on what we have and add more playmakers. This year we will start winning games through the defense and the running game. Next year when our quarterback has experience we will be more versatile and have added another dimension. I am getting exited again for Dolphin football FINALLY we've got a guy that knows what he is doing.
