Yet another genius move by our organization.
I'd really like to know how this guy could receive consideration for any NFL job with the kind of credentials that he has.
Sheridan has only been in the NFL as a coach since 2005. He was the linebackers coach for the Giants from 05-08, before becoming the DC in 09, where he failed miserably. Before that, he was a linebackers/defensive line coach for the U of Michigan, before that he was at Michigan State. Here is a list of the linebackers that the Giants have drafted since 2005:

2005: Chase Blackburn (undrafted, sucks anyway)
2006: Gerris Wilkinson, Mathias Kiwanuka (Kiwi spent some time at LB, mostly an end, never played well at linebacker though)
2007: Zak DeOssie
2008: Jonathan Goff, Bryan Kehl
2009: Clint Sintim
Any of those names sound familiar to you? ... Me neither. I liked Sintim as a 3-4 OLB in the draft, but he's a fish out of water in the 4-3 that the Giants play. Which is another thing that concerns me about Sheridan, he's never coached in a 3-4 defense before... Ever.

So I guess we brought in Sheridan because of his knack for developing players.... Ummm, we must have brought him in because he was a great coordinator for the Giants last year!... Ummm, no, I got it, we brought him in because he has a ton of experience coaching 3-4 linebackers................

Oh, I get it, it's another joke by our front office! They never fail to let me down when it comes to humor! This one ranks up there with the one about Pat White!

So you are blaming Sheridan for the Giants' poor drafting at the linebacker position? I wasn't aware that linebacker coaches call the shots on draft day.

I don't want him as a DC, but he is an OK hire as a linebackers coach.

:hi5: Good call nub, beat me to it. VIP here I come!!

Good lord, the point is he's never developed a single drafted player into a good one. is it ALL his fault? No. But it certainly doesn't reflect well on him. Especially considering how awful he was last year at DC. Jesus, ask any Giants fan, all I ever heard last year here in New York was how terrible Bill Sheridan is. My friends are knowledgeable guys too, I'm not talking about generic blabbering ******** NY fans.

Well, anybody want to tell me why we're hiring a LB coach that's never coached in a 3-4 before???

Has it come to this that people are flipping out over a LB coach hiring damn. I thought I have seen it all but i guess I havent. You also have to look at those guys how many where first day draft picks and how many of those where development picks on the 2nd day? I dont know the answer beacuse I do not pay attention to the Giants Lbs. However, I know one thing and that is he helped coach the LBs that played in a super bowl and won. Let him coach a year before we start bashing Position coaches.

you know how some guys are glass half empty and some are glass half full? Insomnia is a glass shattered on the ground type thinker.

Bill Sheridan was a very good LB coach for the Giants. He coached some damn good LBs and D-Linemen at Michigan and he played a big part in helping Reggie Torbor and Kawika Mitchell doing so well in 2007. Plus, Chase Blackburn is a decent LB to have off the bench, and Zak DeOssie was drafted as a Long Snapper (and was an Pro Bowler at the position).

Sheridan was bad as the DC, but as an LB Coach he was very very good.

Some people just need a reason to complain.

we need a pissingandmoaningheaven.com or a iforgotmymidolheaven.com

why be a dolphin fan? things are just awful

when we went 1-15 did you slit your wrists?

Not to mention that the Giants entire defensive philosophy centers around the pass rush anyway.

And Clint Sintim is a guy we all wanted.

But what makes you say he was a very good LB coach? I just gave specific examples to show you how he never developed anyone into a decent player. Not only that, he has no experience coaching in a 3-4.

Whenever I make a post with a dissenting opinion, I always back up my feelings with facts and logic.
Then I have to deal with you saying things like this. You want to argue facts? Or do you want to keep taking power dumps in my ear?
