Bills receiver beats up his father!

His father is a low life ex convict. Hardy was pretty much on his own while his father was in jail.

It always amazes me how fans of problem player justify their actions. This is not a knock against the Bills fans b/c every fan base does it but this guy not only beat up his Father but was arrested for beating up his girlfirend. he clearly is not a stable guy but as long as he can catch footballs for your team I guess that's ok?

It's the NFL. The NFL can take you out of prison. Don't you think Ray Lewis, Pacman Jones, and etc deserve to be behind bars?

Let them play, every team eventually will have about 20 convicts and we will be rooting for them.

Agreed to a certain extent. We all defend "our guys." If this stuff is true, then Hardy is a total scumbag. But here's a few things to think about:

1) He's 21 years old
2) There aren't a lot of potential millionaires floating around Fort Wayne, Indiana.
3) His girl dropped the charges and claime she was trying "to get at him."
4) His gun was legally registered and the police didn't see fit to press charges.
5) His dad was gone most of his life. Now he appears after he was drafted. Not trying to justify whatever happened, but I'd be a little angry at this guy too.
6) The Bills will add a character clause to his contract. Hardy cost himself some money.
7) It will all be forgot after he catches 10 tds.

finfan should get used to it. He's gonna beat up on your db's for years to come :D

If he could catch 10 td passes for the Dolphins i'd take him. For any player on any team it really doesn't matter if they're a bad guy as long as they can play. I remember Randy McMichael and some of his problems. Bryan Cox wasn't exactly the most classy player. Though they could play so who cares?

James Hardy II has been a major problem in Ft.Wayne and it is known that when James was Drafted by the Bills his so called father started trying to get to him and his family. Reports are that he had been calling asking for money and threatening to make things hard for the family if his son didn't take care of him financially.
James W. Hardy II told Fort Wayne Police officers that his son “did not do anything to him,” according to the incident report, and that his son is angry with him for spending much of his son's childhood in prison. Fort Wayne Police were called to the home, in the 2900 block of Weisser Park Avenue, at 1:26 p.m. Sunday in reference to a 911 hang-up. When a 911 dispatcher called the number back, a 73-year-old woman who lives at the home said Hardy was armed.
When police arrived, the woman said Hardy, also known as James W. Hardy III, had come over to the home and that suddenly she heard a loud noise in her back yard. She looked out to see Hardy “beating up” his 43-year-old father, according to a police report.
The woman said the younger Hardy pulled out a black gun when she yelled for him to stop, according to the report. He then left in his white Cadillac truck. Records indicate Hardy has a permit to carry a gun for protection until 2011.
Hardy's father explained to officers his son is always angry at him, the report said, because of the prison time he served when Hardy was young. The elder Hardy was imprisoned for forgery, armed robbery and dealing cocaine during separate prison stints from 1987 through 2001, according to Indiana Department of Correction records.
Police then arrested Hardy's father for an outstanding warrant in Kosciusko County, where he's wanted for failing to appear on a violation of driving with a suspended license. He was booked into Allen County Lockup but was no longer at the facility this morning.
This morning, the elder Hardy said there was no altercation and no gunplay involved. “I love my son,” he said numerous times. “My son and I, our relationship is fine.” He said he wished to put closure on the incident.

So he hit his girlfriend, his father, and i guess next would be his grand father. Ralph Wilson and Marv Levy better look out.
